It's that time of the year for me.

The issue with Hurst is his age, and its a legitimate concern. If you draft him in the 1st he'll be 30 yo when his 5th year is up. Then you have to decide if at his age you're going to pay, what will likely be Hurst' only and largest contract. Paying top dollar for a 30 yo TE is far from ideal. So do you draft someone in the 1st who you may only have for 5 years??

No issue if he is ballin pay him if not c ya. No different than anyone else on 5th year option. Don't really understand why it's big deal really doesn't make sense.

Why hold such reservations about Hurst? Dude is a tool box tight end, he does everything well, he is used as an h back, tight end, slot receiver, tackle, etc. Greg Olsen is an injury prone 33 year old that has threatened the team with retirement. Taking the best tight end in the draft by a fairly large margin makes a ton of sense, it's not like he wouldn't see the field, he would see a ton of snaps.

I was with you until your "Injury Prone" comment.  I don't think Greg has been injured until now in his career.

Cowboys love Leighton Vander Esch

Titans love Rashaan Evan's

Packers are desperate for corner and will take with their first, or trade up for Ward/Minkah

Derwin James will stay in Florida

Daron Payne is a favorite in Washington

Edmund's will go 8 or 9

That lines up with rumors i have been reading, if thats right then i think Ridley could fall to us. Dont think the Ravens are interested but Pats are a unknown.

Ridley to Baltimore makes a ton of sense.

He's tough, he can block and has very good speed and wants to prove himself - he ain't messing around at 25 years old.

Don’t kid yourself.

He’s 25 years old and he’s raw.

He’s 25 years old.

Just why do people think we’re going to be this dumb with our first rounder.

When you get to your 30s, injuries come a lot easier than they used to. Just ask Steve Smith.

I'm actually more interested in hearing about Olson threatening retirement.

I think his point is Greg, at his current age, is now injury prone and not as reliable. The writing has been on the wall since before last season when he started campaigning for a new deal. He knows his own body and knows that he is gonna be breaking down-- and he did break down last year.

If we honestly waste a first or second on a 25 year old raw rookie TE (Hayden Hurst) im going to be really pissed.

I think all scouts would say your wrong. He is ready to step in and play. Looks like you might be pissed. I think you have to do something with Greg starting to get hurt and asking for a new contract. Don't see how you think we can roll with Manhertz if Greg goes down again.

So Verge Igo says it's going to be Hughes, Ridley or Hernandez. Have you heard anything else on our pick as it gets closer. Also what our scouts saying about Hurst could you tell these people on here so they understand why he is a first rd grade.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
