spot on.

I don't think that Josh Norman necessarily has been given enough credit for being a student of the game. He put in a lot of film room time to improve his game.

If given time, perhaps Gunter can play to that type of level with more teaching and experience.

That deal is probably higher then an RFA tender would have been, though I doubt the difference is huge.

Gunter Is probably decent depth. I know he's one of these guys that the Huddle thinks is a super talent that somehow nobody sees, but if he's no more than depth, I'm okay with that.

Pretty sure original round tender would've been $1.9M and we gave him up to $1.4M... If it was going to be higher we would've just tendered him initially so I don't really see your logic here.

The guy was there for evaluation purposes and he only saw limited time on the field. He looked like he had some potential, though. Maybe he'll catch fire this year. Maybe not. Either way, CB is one of those positions you don't want to have to rely on depth, but if you do, it's good to have some guys experienced in your system. Wise money spent.

Honestly our D seemed to tighten up considerably when he came in late in the game against the Saints in the playoffs. Brees even tested him on back to back plays when he came in and he shut it down...I was excited about him but I was confused as to why we didn’t initially re-sign him.

He was awesome in the Saints game, but we put Worley back in

    • I just don't think some guys have it. Darnold has the panic gene. I don't think there's any fixing it. He looks really good as long as the play develops as drawn up or if he gets pressured immediately and has to go to his check down right away. It's when he has decent protection and his first read isn't open and he's standing back there in the pocket with that panic slowly building. That's when he does disastrous poo.
    • based on the QBs drafted #1 comparison thread, he’s right where he should be. if your expectations were to have a rookie lead us to the playoffs without an OL and WR corps, maybe your expectations were a bit off.
    • at some point, though, you just have to suck it up and accept it and deal with the bad deal you got.  you go through funks where you keep making mistakes and hope that you get it figured out sometime soon, but in the learning process you realize you could have done some things better but you're stuck with decisions you make. you have two choices...whine about it or just brush it off and hope can make the situation you put yourself work. i know a lot of people in here have probably never experienced or dealt with failure much in their lives, but i have and i learned to just suck it up and try to make the best of the situation you've got yourself in because you realize that you're stuck with it for a while. doesn't do any good to keep harping over what you wish you had done better. you already know that. now it's just about moving forward from here and making the best of it and hoping you can make something of it. it's the easiest thing in the world to look at where Bryce falls short...and yes, that was intentional. everyone knows that and all that is done is beating that horse laying on the ground. what takes some work is trying to see how it can work and if they have done and are doing things to help the situation get better.
