Cappy's 7 Round Mock

Captain Morgan

Recommended Posts

Josh Jackson would not hurt my feelings at all.  According to an article on CBS Sports Josh Jackson is compared to Josh Norman.   If we have a player of Josh Norman's caliber for 5 years would solidify our DBs for awhile.

Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa

NFL comparsion: Josh Norman

Jackson is more explosive than Norman was when he entered the league in 2012, but Norman was slightly more refined with making plays in coverage other than zone. The two are big, long, hyper-aware perimeter corners with tremendous ball skills. With mainly zone and off-man responsibilities, Jackson can have a Norman-type impact early at the pro level.

I feel like Josh Jackson is the perfect fit for our scheme and he could bei BPA at our position. I would love this pick.

IMO, our 1st round pick should be a CB. I really want 3 CBs who are ready to play. Give us a chance to combat those 3-4, or even 5 wide Offenses.

    Or the best WR/TE left.

Haha...what a joke u are.. If you are special needs I appologize.

He is and it's especially true considering if we had even mediocre weapons: aka PS player WR doesn't drop a TD pass....we beat the Saints in the playoffs with our current D/team so...he's wrong regardless....and that's the vaunted Saints with rookies of the year all over.....1 TD drop....

Yea Cam and the offense finally need a complete side of the ball.

Well prepared OP, using a simulator and screenshotting available players was a great and refreshing touch.

IMO, Looking at our FA signings, Hurney looked to improve 2 glaring holes, CB and WR. Hell he did that with the Philly trade, the Breeland debacle was unfortunate or maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I just have a feeling, those 2 positions were addressed, along with an upgrade at NT.

The glaring concerns right now are S, TE and C. This is a top heavy draft for all three,  taking Price at 24 gives you the option to release RK and double the cap space or have him ready to take over for the next 10 years. I like your second pick in Hurst, just not sure he’ll be there, but the depth at that spot has been ignored for years. Last but not least, a S will be picked in the first 3 rounds. You don’t cut a team captain and replace him with C. Jones and expect to stay employed by new ownership. The problem is depth throughout the roster, giving change for a dollar according to Gman’s drafting approach.... we’re taking the BPA according to my board and then I’ll panic and trade away picks to address obvious needs.

They swept us you dumbass 3-0.. So we were close one game and you think we were close to even with them? Lol

Sorry for being realistic our defense is closer to being dominant than our offense... JMO We can have the best defense in the south with a few upgrades.. I don't see that with the offense yet..

Sorry I didn't know you were the font police. Next time I will send you a draft to get your approval first. Aka the Huddle editor

Wow. I replied to stephen8989 asking why he felt the need to quote an entire page to add 4 words, and you somehow think it was about you? Maybe 2 accounts is too much for you?

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
