I dont want a wide receiver round one

We are not set at cb, putting too much stock into guys like crockwell, Bradberry,Gunter etc. WR isn’t a must but if Ridley or Moore are there at 24, I could very well see them as the pick.

Going by the current fa market, 3 positions we should not force draft are s,rb,te. So I’d go cb round 1, te/c/g rd 2, S/WR rd 3, Lb/ De rd 3 pick 2. Trade into the 4th and take a flyer on Orlando brown if he’s there still.

You take the BPA, not an inferior player at another position because you think he's needed more. There are few WRs worth taking in the first round, and if you can get them, you get them, because they're likely much better than a defensive back whose skills relate closer to second and third round talent. If Ridley or D.J. Moore are there, you likely take them. If Baby OBJ is there, and you really believe he is Baby OBJ, you take him! The draft is deeper at defensive back, so you can pick one up in round two or three.

Yep. Other than QB or DT we could use an upgrade at every position

I agree with this. Even though earlier in the year I was all for drafting a WR with our 1st pick the closer and closer we get to draft day, the excitement of drafting someone like Ridley, Moore, Sutton, Kirk, etc. is fading. I fully believe you can get playmaking wide receivers in this draft in the mid rounds that would be just as productive.  However, with the glaring holes at Safety, Cornerback, and Guard, i truly believe the smart decision is to go for these positions.  I expect us to go Hernandez, Josh Jackson, Jaire Alexander, Justin Reid (think hes more of a Day 2 guy), Harrison (Day 2 guy).

My prediction is either Hernandez, Jackson, or Alexander.  There's more of a drop off in talent IMO after these first round talent guys are gone.

WR, OL, and DB are the only positions on the team I'd like to see picked in the first round.  I get the need of a tight end, but I don't see why so many people want us to draft one in the first round.

No it's just one person.

I have no idea what to expect at RB. We've really been talking up CAP recently so either we're not interested in a RB early or we're trying to throw out a smokescreen.

Honestly, I dont think we're taking a RB in the 1st three rounds unless there's a steal on the board. I could see us taking a guy like Penny if he was there in the 3rd simply because at that point you'd almost be crazy not to take him.

    • Not many people talking about DT, but we have a need.  (DE)  Now this guy is a NT like Brown III
    • But is it about letting Bryce develop or about winning games? Bryce has not been good enough to be an uncontested starter. He just hasn't. How many times has last drive Bryce shown up for 4 entire quarters? Once in 3 seasons? You aren't going to win 9 or 10 one score games every season year in and year out. You may want Bryce in the last 2 minutes. I want that Bryce the full 60.  No one is saying you have to give up on him, but bringing in another QB that can do anything is not hindering Bryce. It helps the team and that's where the focus needs to be. If drafting Sadiq to plague the middle of the field would help out offense, but Bryce struggles to get pass into the middle of the field, is Sadiq a bad pick? Or could he be a good pick with a better option at QB? We can't be afraid to improve. QB, TE, OL, LB, DL, CB, S. It doesn't matter. The goal is SBs, not 5 to 8 years seeing waiting to see if Bryce can develop while the rest of the league keeps passing us by.  Sadiq is a nice option, but I think we have to address tackle if one we like is there because we are painfully thin after this year, a LB to general the field, and a true ball hawking safety that can set the tone in the secondary. Those 3 positions are bigger game changers than a TE that will likely struggle to make a round 1 impact in this offense.
    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
