In 13 years he got 2 players. Boy you got me there. Also Moore was not a UDFA. He came from Dallas practice squad.

Moore was an UDFA, and Hurney signed him to the regular roster after the Cowboys tried to sneak him on their practice squad after final cuts. But, semantics.

I am not a Hurney apologist. I was glad he was fired when he was. I also think the timing of the firing of Gettleman was awful by Richardson, and left no good interim option except Hurney.

I also won't cry any tears if the new owner wants to hire his own GM.

But I do think Hurney has done very well since he's been back, and he is not as incompetent as some people make him out to be.

I not trying to play gotcha other than to be a counter point to the notion that Hurney has never done anything right bc it's simply not true.

Outside of UDFA. Everyone is mad that we took short corners....but we did make it to the Superbowl with Ricky Manning Jr and Terry Cousin. Two short guys.

No thats not semantics. Cuts are totally different than UDFA signings. You literally get to see the players play in the preseason. No so with UDFA. Hurney is Hurney. It's not his fault that he sucks at evaluation. It's actually more shocking Rivera sucks at it but either way JR put the two together again...

I have yet to figure out why 5'11" is short.

A new GM could’ve been found with a bit more due diligence and not reverting back to the comfort zone of someone who bends the knee to JR

UDFA are UDFA’s for a reason, the only position that sometimes works out are the small school offensive linemen.

some people act like every single pick is a 1st or 2nd round pick, when in reality after the 3rd round it’s a complete crap shoot, and part of the reason why I hate that we traded away one of outbursts 3rd picks.

gererally if you can get one starter out of a draft it’s a good draft, 2 is amazing, the rest of he players you’re hoping become solid depth at best.

I think you need at least 3-4 eventual starters each draft, including 1-2 immediate starters.  This is based on roughly 27 "starters" and an average playing career of around 7 years.  Note: I'm including K, P, LS, Nickel, Slot WR/Power RB in the starter count.  Arguably a team like ours that relies on heavy DE/DT rotation could add a couple of more to the D-line.

I think we got at least 4 eventual starters in the first 4 rounds.  The DE and DT could be rotational in a few years and one of the LBs could eventually start for somebody in a few years (assuming they are still healthy).  Pretty good draft.
