No DB Coach movement

Haven't seen anything about outside interviews for the spot vacated by Curtis Fuller yet.

Voth indicated it was possible, but if the Panthers are looking anywhere other than in-house, nobody seems to know about it.

Unless we hear otherwise, it sounds like Rivera is just gonna stick with Richard Rodgers.

Very disappointing.  We're looking at promoting a guy who was demoted because he couldn't teach special teams . . . surely, surely there is a promising young college DB coach we could reach out to.  Our secondary is so young, we really need a strong teacher in that group.

Hurney did a radio interview yesterday and said it'll likely be an internal hire, mentioned Rodgers and another (didn't catch who exactly) on staff.

Probably Jeff Imamura.

The way it had been structured, Rodgers was the safeties coach, Imamura was the nickel coach, and Fuller was over it all and coached corners.

My guess: They'll make Rodgers the secondary coach and Imamura his assistant. Vice versa is possible but Rodgers has seniority and he and Rivera go way back (college teammates).

Steve Spagnuolo, Chuck Pagano, Ray Horton and Dennis Thurman are all available.

Seems too late to do anything but promote someone internally.

Steve Spagnuolo is one of the best secondary coaches in the league. He cut his teeth under the same system as Rivera and McDermott, and he's currently available.

Richard Rodgers was reassigned to safeties coach so that Rivera didn't have to fire him as special teams coach.
