An FYI, this isn't a very good troll attempt.

again, like i said, Not nice or professional at all... but she never told him no, and even though she says she didnt like it, she never told him to stop, or that it made her feel uncomfortable... this article hasn't told me nothing that justifies jerry loosing his life work for...

now if she had told him to stop, or that it made her feel uncomfortable and he continued and kept grabbing her etc... then that would be different... about the racial slur, id need to know more than he said the n word

have you ever kissed a woman without asking her if you could, or starting massaging her without her first telling you it was ok and that she wanted you to... you ever asked a woman to buy something particular to wear etc ?? if you've done any of theses things, then technically your as guilty as jerry is

The NFL isn’t going to ban a key component of civil litigation settlements. Nor should they. As a settlement that involves an NDA, and a lot of them do, does not equal guilt.

Sometimes the smarter play both financially and from a PR perspective is to make the situation go away.  That’s why they exisit.

I came in this thread expecting the Richardson Rule to have something to do with blue jeans...

NDAs protect the perpetrator, never the victim. They're a way to buy silence, usually offered up as the only option besides a protracted legal battle in which a case is made that the perpetrator has more money than you, so they will win.

Jerry Richardson is a scumbag piece of poo, who also happened to bring an NFL team to the Carolinas, for his own enrichment. If he'd had the connections to bring the team somewhere else that made him more money, he'd have done that. I don't have any illusions about him bringing the team here 'for us fans.'

NDAs are a generic term used for much more than just hushing people up. The parties involved in the Panthers bidding signed NDAs. When you are in negotiations regarding selling even a small business you utilize NDAs.

Richardson is a creep and deserves whatever he has coming to him. On the flip side accepting money to keep a secret isn't exactly noble either. And I'm not blaming the victim.

In the workplace these are all sexual harassment. IDGAF where you work.

NDAs can protect the victim to some extent. Having your life torn apart, every moment disected, every sexual thought you've ever made put out for public review and criticism is in itself traumatic. While I agree money isn't the solution to everything, and in the end justice isn't truly done, exactly how much trauma does a victim need to endure? Each individual is different and the level they can tolerate differs also. If you've ever known a woman who has been the victim of a sexual assault, and sadly I can say I've known a couple, you know what I'm referring to. It's heartbreaking.

I'm sure you'll hear this a lot, but in the workplace it's not allowed. In the workplace it's called sexual harassment. Workplace is held to a higher standard because people in power do things like JR did and victims of this harassment should not feel like they have to put up with it if they want to keep their job.
