Player’s Opinion on new Facilities

With all the talk of a new practice facility and HQ away from BOA, and the desire to incorporate more of the Carolinas as a whole, how do you think this plays out with the players? I would imagine most enjoy being in a larger city with shorter commutes and a centralized location.  Obviously practicing in a hotel ballroom in bad weather is less than ideal, but for a smaller market team, I think Charlotte offers a lot to keep players happy in downtime, good schools for kids, and overall a good environment.  Do you think moving the practice facilities will affect player contentment?  It might sound stupid, but players would probably rather be close to daily practice facilities and commute once a week to BOA for game day, driving many out of the city.  It might not seem important to us as fans, but when it comes down to contract years and free agency, quality of life plays a part.

Facilities to me are bigger in the college realm than NFL. 

Money rules all things and that has been the case 9 times out of 10 with nfl players. It would be nice to have an indoor facility and such but that’s not the main thing when signing with an NFL team. A lot of panthers have apartments in Charlotte and nice houses near where they are from unless they have a family and want to settle it seems.

Correct. Vets like Greg Olson, Luke, TD etc all live in SouthPark/South Charlotte.  Same with Coaches.

Tepper said he’d rather tear down the practice fields and use it for parking to bring in more revenue for the team. It actually makes a lot of sense tbh

^ Yep

And of course the whole 1 team, 2 states motto has most thinking that the new practice/multi-purpose facility will land in SC.

Wow, i really never thought of that. I am glad Tepper has fresh ideas, he seems really in tune to creating a better experience.

I doubt the players will have a problem commuting to the new practice facility. I'm pretty sure they'll be jumping for joy knowing that they won't have to practice in a ball room during inclement weather anymore. I still can't believe they had to practice in a ball room SMH. So cheap, so tacky.

      Because it's not that bad, it is literally saving people money if they don't live near the team they root for and are able to get them on local TV every week. Do I wish it was cheaper? Sure, of course. But I can also objectively look at it and say it's saving me money compared to needing to go watch it at a bar ever weekend.   And before anyone says to just stream it, I did it for a while once Covid hit, partially because we were so bad so I didn't care about the problems with it, but it was just awful.  To begin with, sometimes they just flat out didn't work, sometimes the quality sucked, sometimes it would just buffer every 30 seconds and be nearly unwatchable. The $450 this costs for the season is a significantly better deal than the $180 I have to spend to watch Wrexham matches for the season.  That pass, you have to sign up for an individual team and you only get their games (and not even all of them sometimes).  At least with Sunday Ticket, you get every single non national or local game, which again, is amazing for fantasy football junkies.

      I honestly don't think that was as true as most believed. Cam was a very efficient passer in Norv's system and again in his year in NE. I think we hurt him in his development and as an overall QB trying to tailor TOO much to his unique talents. The read option should've always remained a staple, but after year two the passing game should've evolved into a more typical modern day NFL passing offense vs. an obsession with chunk play deep ball setups.
