I can’t remeber how PUP works, so if all goes well he can start week 1? I thought it was something like he couldn’t come back until week 6 or whatever?

Can come back any time in preseason.  If he starts the regular season on PUP I think there's a 6 week waiting period, and then 2 weeks when the player can practice and team can evaluate before decision.  Something like that...

Max Henson clarified that guys on the PUP DO count toward the 90 man limit.  Also, once a guy practices even once they cannot go on PUP... So it's only a possible designation now, which is why you can understand the team erring on side of caution with a few of these guys.

Peppers is fine, doesn't need a single rep in training camp/preseason

Samuel is very concerning. If he doesn't get reps in 2 straight preseasons, I can't see him making the team, he is so far behind schedule. Training camp is super important to young players

I think we have to keep him, even if he isn't ready. Some team will snatch him off the practice squad.

Pep will be fine BTW but expect him to be worked in. He is dealing with normal stiffness but his cardio is on track because it's upper body. Don't expect to see Samuel for awhile. His recovery has been slow but his injuries were serious. May never be the same player is what I take from my info.

If the Panthers cut Samuel that’d be one of the dumbest moves they could make.

From what I see with Samuel, the move is completely precautionary. Plus, he is on the active list, so I assume he’ll get in better shape soon.

In terms of talent, behind Funchess Samuel’s the second most one . I’d really hate to see the Panthers miss out on him.

Samuels problems go beyond physical.  His mental mistakes last year proved costly.  He needs the training time with the team.  I hope they were just rookie jitters, but only field time makes that go away.

Personally, I thought Web brought more to the table than Anderson at QB and other positions.
