Midfield NFL shield is gone (speculation)

It's also amusing to think about what Tepper is contractually obligated to keep the same and what he can change.

Wonder if Richardson pondered making the shield part of the deal as well.

Don't think it's  been mentioned, but I read that the clause concerning the statue is pretty thorough. Not only can it not be removed. It can't be altered, concealed, relocated or anything else.

All this after it was heavily pushed that Richardson didn't want the statue and it was basically forced on him by the junior partners.

(yeah, right)

Think it even needs to be moved to a new stadium.

Black socks with away jerseys, is this a mistake?

EDIT: a gentleman asked on twitter about this and the Panthers twitter liked his comment...so maybe it’s real.

Upon further review, those aren’t socks (I also thought they were at first)...they are showing each possible variation with the black pants as an option...could we see more black pants this season?

I still don't see anything that suggests a change of the midfield logo, what gives?  Hell he could be looking at changing the field turf for all way know.

Steven Drummond's tweet was more explicit. "Less red. More black, blue and silver"

I don't remember that, but I can look it up. Pretty sure the article was by Jonathan Jones.

Edit: Confirmed.

Damn. Richardson really did give a final "f--k you" to everybody, didn't he?

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
