Kid has done more than justify that he shouldn't just be guaranteed a spot on the practice squad.  I would be  disappointed if he doesn't make the 53 man roster over Daeshon Hall.

Just like I was saying 2 years ago, Byrd has that it factor that hunger.

Efe Obada moves likes LB and he can play inside with his size. The dude is strong, has a very quick first step and can run down fast QBs/RBs. I was his biggest fan last preseason and he has only gotten better.

If he does not make the roster I will be disappointed but he will definitely make it next year.

Obada is going to be solid.

I see what you are saying.  Hall has only been effective on stunts--but I would say way too early to give up on him.  His strength was his biggest issue--so maybe he gets another hang nail  and goes to IR (weight room) for another year.  Obada can stay on the PS without costing us a spot-

I like what we have in the oven at DE--Haynes, Hall, Cox, Obada---if Horton, Peppers, and Addison can hold down the fort for a while, we could be solid.

I still say way too early to give up on Hall.  He is slowly improving and has a high ceiling.  Obada had a good preseason for sure.

Give Obada a few more years to develop and he could become a very solid rotational end.

Its now or never. I would be surprised if he doesn't make the team, and if he doesn't someone else will enjoy his service.

My question is,

Do you think Obada is as good or better than Horton

And if so would you be willing to cut a Horton to make room for Hall

Its just hard to bite and cut Hall.  Dude was a 3rd round pick with tons of potential and had to sit out his rookie season last year with a injury.

I think if our future is Haynes, Hall, Cox and Obada, the future could be more than a bit troubling.

I wonder how much of the Efe love is based on the story and a few splash plays.  I'm guessing the coaches are looking at all of the snaps and looking also at things like keeping contain on run plays and such.

I'll be honest I haven't really took time to watch the game and just focus on him every play.

    • Tomlinson was a dog. I think CMC is one of the best to ever play as a swiss army knife type of weapon. In terms of pure punishing bruising runner he cannot hold Tomlinson's jock. LT was a literal Ironman. 9 years with the Chargers never played less than 14 games in a season. Missed 3 games total. 12,490 yards. 138 touchdowns. That's an MVP candidate. Since 2020 CMC has missed 57 games. Fifty seven. You can't be the most valuable from the bench brother.
    • I never buy until that. The list of sub 5-10 NFL RB's is long.  He is bulky enough but I think he just habitually overtrains and he gets a ton of mileage. That's my theory.
    • They aren't truly better post trade.  Stafford was traded after the 2020 season.  Dan Campbell became head coach the next year, Ben Johnson elevated to OC the year after that.  That's why they were "better" post trade, until Johnson left.  With those two calling the shots, and Matthew Stafford, the Lions would have at least one Super Bowl this decade.  Also, Jamhyr Gibbs, Sam LaPorta, Amon St Brown, Jameson Williams, and David Montgomery were all added post trade, which would've given Stafford more talent than he was ever surrounded by in Detroit.  With respect to Megatron.
