Outside of the people hoping he’s hurt, this is terrible news. He was looking so good so I hope for his sake he’s healthy now and for our sake it’s a minor thing.

Nobody has said anything remotely close to hoping that he's hurt.

If you've got a personal axe to grind that's fine but don't make bullshit up out of thin air.

I didn't see you here rushing to KB's defense when people were calling him a lazy fat ass while his knee cap was out of place in the middle of a game.

Life before football. For the Panthers, I truly hope it’s minor and doesn’t effect his play. For him, do what’s best for you, Curtis.

This is why even before these recent issues I was hesitant to propel him to the main or #2 option like a lot of people here have been calling for. I'd love for the guy to have a significant role on the team but unfortunately we can;t until we determine whether he can even handle an NFL season. His proneness to injury is a giant question mark right now.

Those posturing the loudest about his health right now like they actually even care will be the first to drunkenly use any possible absence stemming from this to blast Ron Rivera or whoever else they might be pissed off at any given moment during the season.

We know what the gameday threads look like.

If I had to hazard a guess he has atrial fibrillation and had an ablation procedure done. The procedure uses electrodes to find the problem area. Once found, a small scar is placed in that area and it often stops the irregular heartbeat.

That's probably right, and holding him out for more than a few days would be purely precautionary in that case. Afib is uncommon but not unheard of in young athletes.

Just curious: How common is it among the general population of people his age?

The most specific data I found in a quick search was for males 20-24 in a European population, where the prevalance was 0.036% (3.6 in 10,000 people). Can be more common in extremely physically/mentally stressful situations - I've seen people go into it transiently at the end of a 28 hour shift where they're running on coffee, adrenaline and spite.
