Talking with a buddy of mine who's a lifelong Bucs fan (poor guy) and he told me there's alot of whispers that they may go with Fitz over Winston.

Grapevine and all that, but still interesting lol

it's more than just grapevine when the buccaneer's general manager wouldn't commit to handing the team back over to winston when he returned.

Bucs only won 5 last season, but I think this version is more like the 9-7 team of '16.

I wouldn't be surprised that they're better off playing Fitz. I think the team probably respects him more than Winston too.

I’ve been waiting to make this thread.

Saints are notoriously bad at starting seasons (started 0-2 the last 4 years in a row).

Both defenses suck.

Fitzpatrick (A guy I would root for in the past), making some great plays. I wonder if Bucs keep him if they are undefeated once Jameis’ suspension is over?

But they finished 7-9 in 3 of those years.

And last year they lost @ Min and vs NE. Not to TB with their backup QB.

TB has one of the best olines in football, as well as a damn good skill position group from top to bottom. I think everybody has agreed that they'd be a threat if Winston ever took a step.

Fitz played out of his mind today. His ball placement was fantastic. That doesn't mean the Saints weren't terrible. Both outside corners got roasted. That never happened last year. The couldn't sniff Fitz and when they did, it was roughing for some reason or another.

Bucs were just better today.

    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
    • Cos he looks much better?
