Pats, Eagles, jets and 49ers had confirmed interest and you gotta imagine the Rams did as well.

Funny how teams that went to the superbowl and have wr needs want to take a flyer on Gordon.

It's even funnier how many big name and "huge potential" WRs the Pats have swung and missed on. It's been literally dozens. The only one, and yes there is only one, they hit on was Moss and his time there was very short lived despite the historic season.

Most have been guys who were washed before showing up, if he stays out of trouble he'll be in his prime.

Teams like that generally have enough depth to absorb the hit if he screws up again.

And at the moment neither team does. Alshon is still out, Wallace has a leg fracture and Agholor has the same production as funchess.

And the pats wr are worse outside of Julian

what happened the last time we had some one that couldn't stay off the weed? How can anyone say he is "low risk"? No matter how good someone is if he is not allowed to play he is useless.

In part because they've been picking up guys that didn't produce elsewhere (Dorsett and Cooks, who's now gone, for example).

Whenever you're analyzing what the Patriots do, you have to factor in Belichick's ego. Belichick firmly believes he could take a squad of high schoolers to the Super Bowl. That's why he'll go after guys that have been failures elsewhere because he thinks he'll turn them into stars.

The reality on that front though is that he's failed at it more often than people think.

Having a QB like Brady has done wonders in masking his screw ups like that.

Yep.

I hear people say he's not a bad person. It doesn't really matter if he's a bad person. In all likelihood, a good portion of the guys on our roster already are probably dicks.

Personality isn't the issue. Dependability is.

Have said it many a times:  Never put yourself in position to have to depend on somebody who's proven that they're not dependable.

If you're on the seventeenth cycle of saying "no no, this time he's really changed", that's just not a good sign.

    • MHS, You are missing Claudin Cherelus is a LB that's in the mix for the 4th spot. He's been here for 2 years and had a couple injuries. I mean he was a wavier claim and been here for evero system, just had bad luck when given a chance. Jon Rhat is the current leader mainly cause of he is the ST ace. But Id say, Cherelus has the same % to make the roster.  CB has the recent wavier claim of MJ Devonshire a 2024 7th rounder. He's got the good-great combine numbers but he's small size. Still he's in the mix for backup duties, in fact all the non-UDFA are wavier claims.  ______________________________________________________________   Dam shame about Clowney. I view this as a bad move. I feel clowny is well worth the 7.7, even as a backup. He played hard the whole year without help. I just feel he would have helped more than either DJ Johnson or Barno.  My only cope is he's 32 and at any point his miro-knee could force him to drop off a cliff performance-wise. I wanted to keep him around at least until the trade deadline and if no chance at playoff, flip him for a anything. NFL is a meat grinder, no love for locals....
    • Might as well. We need to get these rookies on the field and see if they can play ASAP.
    • This hate this part of football and then you have to get down to the 53 Man Roster 🙁
