Hate this, he is one of the good guys. Doesn't seem that long ago when we drafted him. Damn I'm getting old.

I was actually sitting on the couch of a girl that I was dating at the time. She was cuddled up to me and getting a little frisky. When I saw the Panthers drafted Stewart, I sat up toward the TV and said "holy crap".

Let's just say my reaction wasn't well received :)

LMAO, Well my story isn't as "romanic" as yours. I just remember that full pic of him after the pic and sending it to my buddies saying "look at this stump of a kid".

Oh I wouldn't call mine "romantic". She was...annoyed. Even more so when I reacted again because they traded up and drafted Jeff Otah.

I don't count that as one of my proudest moments :)

I remember seeing his pre-draft interview at Oregon and thinking that no matter where that kid goes, I'm rooting for him.  I knew we wouldn't take him cause we had D-Will.  When we took him I was ecstatic and he'll remain one of my favorite Panthers ever.  Hope we give him a grand sendoff when the time comes.  That Chris Conte stiffarm all over twitter had me reminiscing about the MNF game that both D Will and J Stew put Ronde Barber in the ground so hard it shook the stadium.

Hate to hear it for him, he's a great guy and he was a heck of a running back. He gets to spend time with him wife and kid now and I'm pretty sure they are well taken care of. He'll also get to spend more time on his music. Talented guy, done well for himself. Maybe he can come back and retire as a Panther on a one day contract next year.

Not shocking.  Few if any believed he had a full year left in him.

Hate to see it, though.

Gettleman wasted 3 million on him He shoulda known he was done last year. He also wasted a signing on kaelin butterfingers clay who they just waived.

Yes, I loved Otah. thought he was going to be great for years. such a let down. But did you learn to not have date night on a draft day? lol
