So apparently, Mr. Igo reports in his article that "their are whispers that new Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper isn’t completely sold on Rivera". Simply a BS rumor or is this fo real? I haven't heard anything.

Igo is 50/50 - so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

 

Also, he does not like Rivera.

Yeah I don’t buy this. I buy that Tep comes in here and everyone has to prove themselves but as long as we have a winning season and make the playoffs I’d say he’s pretty secure (and that looks likely).

If the team implodes from this point on, then very possible this is true. If they make the playoffs and actually make some noise, then all bets are off. I do think that if they don't make the Superbowl and win it within the next couple of years, then he will clean house.

From what I have seen so far this season, this is not a team that can make the SB and win it this year.

If Rivera is on the hot-seat then nearly every coach in this league needs to be. 

You are what your record is and right now the Panthers are 3-1. That's about as good as you can ask for in the NFL after 4 games. This isn't Alabama verses Cupcake U. You take wins how you get them and move on. 

Along as the Panthers keep winning this should be a moot point.

Generally put Rivera is mediocre and his philosophy dated.

This is a case example of talent (Luke, Cam) overcoming coaching deficiencies and philosophies. And sadly, Rivera's job is once more secured as long as those two continue being the future Hall of Famers they are.

Yeah just read it, and again, it doesn't surprise me and Jeremy has heard a lot of whispers well before any of the beat writers before, so, it's legit...  and again, Tepper was rumored to be one of the minority owners who wanted Tomlin ousted from Pitt last year, so if he wanted Tomlin gone, I imagine he has very little patience for Ron's passive, conservative, play (not) to lose approach.

Good to hear.  Only thing that scares me, as much as I've been ready to move on from him, is the complete turnover of the coaching staff with Cam and Luke just hitting their primes...  there is usually a pretty steep learning curve with new staffs, especially the type most of our fanbase desires...  then again, if you were gonna do it, may as well do it after this season if we don't win a Superbowl and get the process started ASAP.
