Couldn't care less about soccer, but for the love of all that is holy why do we not have an MLB franchise?  Unacceptable.

City can't afford it. I really hope the city never considers this an option either. It's sunk cost. The return is mundane.

Before you reply - did you know that the Miami Marlins lose $40 million per year in operating cost?

How do you think Charlotte would do when we can barely fill the Knights games even when we offered $2 beers?

Also, based on the agreement, we as tax payers would have to cover it.

The NFL has already allowed for exceptions in the past. I think there comes a time when you've made enough exceptions that you start to question why you have the rule at all.

But Snow is right, too. The sale of the Panthers didn't generate the kind of bidding war that the NFL hoped for. With other team sales on the horizon, I think they've come to understand it might be a good idea to make the club a little less exclusive.

Also wouldn't doubt  that Tepper probably nudged for this to happen too.

From an economic standpoint I agree with you.  From a sports fan standpoint, I just want to be able to watch some MLB at my leisure in uptown.  The Knights stadium is absolutely gorgeous, but at the end of the day, no one cares about the game being played.  They just go for the atmosphere.

I am one of the one's who goes twice a year for either business or leisure. haha, not a fan of the sport. It's very boring. hahah.

I think publicly funded football stadiums are going to go the route of the dodo bird and with that writing on the wall, you may see team owners push to purchase soccer franchises to create a more year-round approach for undomed stadiums. Otherwise they end up having a build a specialty property that only generates revenue for a few days each year for a part of the year. Right now they have the same problem, but municipalities have to carry that burden.

Also, with the death of Paul Allen, others can point to his ownership of multiple teams and his success with those.

But what do I know about what billionaires think? I can't even afford the cheap seats and I have to look hard at the cost of buying a team jersey or even a new cap each year.

The White Sox have had some good prospects go through Charlotte lately with Moncada and Kopech graduating recently and now Eloy Jimenez floating around.

If you can’t appreciate going to go and watch some of the games top prospects play chances are you don’t care enough about the sport and wouldn’t support an MLB team anyways.

Oh ok.  I'm glad that you have psychic ability and can look into my mind and determine how much I appreciate a particular sport.

For the record, I've driven to Atlanta at least 25 times to watch Braves games, and I don't know the first thing about anyone on their farm league, so I don't think your opinion of me holds much weight at all, but thanks anyway, for your completely senseless comment.
