So now we're lowering the bar from "it's his job to carry the team" to "hey at least give the guy some credit".

Keep moving those goalposts boys.  I know what your real motivation here is in defending Jakey.

Way to shift words around.  When you know well enough im referring to the fact the least YOU could do is acknowledge that Jake did carry the team in 2004.

Jake was a good QB when he had protection, same as most. Once the quality of our OL went down, so did his performance. But Smitty willed us to at least half a dozen victories by the amazingness of his sheer awesomeness.  And I'm honestly not a fan of Smitty at all.

No argument there, reason smitty is HOF material and Jake isn’t

Was it Delhomme that put the team on his shoulders, or was it Steve Smith Sr?

From what I remember, it was Smitty that carried this team during that era.

I don't know.  89 carried us some years.  Like 2005.  I wouldn't really consider him dominant until 05.

I wouldn't really say either of our Super Bowl apperances were on 89' back though.  2003 was a true team effort.

See 2004 - arguably Delhomme's best year. Pro Bowl and narrowly missed the playoffs - thanks defense. Oh yea, Steve Smith didnt play that year. Have to give JD some credit at least.

That year got Moose PAID.

So now we know officially why the deep passes aren't happening. First game he opens up, it gets sore. fug it throw screens for the next 7 years.

I hadn't thought about this. Rivera specifically said he got sore after the 4th quarter. What was the only difference in the 4th quarter this game compared to 4th quarters earlier in the season? He had to throw multiple deep balls throughout. Maybe the shoulder surgery really IS why he's been so limited on deep balls this year.

Jake carried the team for one season you guys, give him some credit, but Cam does it every game because "it's his job he's supposed to".

Do you really lack understanding that badly? You are flipping what people say to this false narrative.

No one is knocking Cam. You are knocking the team. It’s a team sport, we win football games when everyone does their job right at the right time.

If the defense doesn’t hold the eagles to 17, kuechly doesn’t make that sack, Bradberry doesn’t break up that pass, peppers/love don’t put their hands up then we wouldn’t be here discussing Cam carrying poo, except maybe carrying us to 7-9 eh?

by your logic, Cam carried us to multiple losing seasons. However, that is not it. Our  TEAM played bad football, not one person.

when our team plays good football it gives Cam a chance to win the game, just like Rodgers and Brady, they need their team to play goood football to win games.

Carrying the team to a 7-9 record? Gee plan the parade for Jake! What a stud!

If that’s your definition of carrying the team while having a WR like Moose in 2014 saying Cam is carrying this team is an insult to him

Seems like you’re not the best at communicating...

    • I’m old enough to remember when I wanted to draft Njoku We brought back Mitchell and officially kept Tremble. Mitchell Evans isn’t going anywhere. Sanders who knows, he was awful last year I fully agree we need a better TE. This room is awful Njoku would be a massive help in the red zone. However it really seems like Dan and the FO prefer to go young on offense
    • You’re underselling Loveland imo. He’s so damn good. You can line him out wide and count on him to win 1 v 1. I don’t see that from Sadiq. Loveland is going to go over 1000 yards next season I’m not overly asking for a WR3. It’s just one of the few directions Morgan could go in round 1.  Let’s say Thieneman, Fano and Cooper are all on the board it’s a tough decision. I just don’t see how this team would take Sadiq over some of those guys given the way they run their offense. Our tight end room is easily bottom of the league so I can definitely see why someone would want a tight end though. At one point during the season I was on the Sadiq train as well. I just don’t think value wise for us specifically it makes sense given our team as a whole As far as tight ends go in this draft I really like Max Klare. Very smooth mover
    • Some of you need some serious help with the way 9 lives rent free in your heads I know for a fact, Dan loves Bryce. Bryce is his guy. This offense is very young and they’re asking Bryce to do a lot. With Idzik taking over playcalling duties it’s a move that is another step in the process of Bryce taking control of the offense. 24 years old. This youth movement on offense and putting more on 9’s shoulders is going to pay off in the long run
