Jerry Richardson may as well still be the owner.

I mentioned it in the gameday thread but the leadership of this team still runs like this is JR’s team.

Nothing is going to change until we clean house of everyone associated with JR. Ron is the prototypical Richardson coach. Hurney, even though I have liked most of what he has done since coming back, never deserved a second chance and is literally just a pawn JR placed back in the organization before finally selling the team. The Norv hire was solid but about 5 years too late in typical JR Panthers fashion. I am tired of watching the careers of super talented players waste away because of trying to uphold some fake tradition and standard that Jerry Richardson built the team around. The NFL is evolving and it is currently leaving the Richardson Panthers in the dust.

It’s time for Tepper to clean house and truly make this team his own and bring a new era of Panthers football to the Carolinas.

Coming from someone who was far from a Hurney fan, he's like damn near the bottom of "guys who deserve blame for this season".  Our best defensive player this season was drafted by Hurney (Jackson).  Reid had a missed tackle today but still made some good hits and Hurney brought him in.  Hurney drafted the best offensive player on the field today not named Newton (DJ Moore... hell he drafted Newton too).

I don't think we'd bring Hurney back if we also fired Rivera, but he shouldn't be mentioned.  Quite frankly talent isn't the issue with this team other than defensive end (and really nothing Hurney could have done about that) and the left side of the offensive line.

Did you forget he was appointed ownership this Spring? What do you expect him to do, fire the GM, head coach, and assistant coaches a couple months before camp? Also Norv was hired in January, well after Tepper became the owner.

Based on what has unfolded this season it’s looking like that’s exactly what he should have done.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
