Stopping Brees

Home team is 10-2 so far this year on Thursday night now I believe.

Only losses for the home team have been the Giants and Cardinals, two of the worst teams in the league.

Thursday night football is a joke.

Hold up. Just realized both teams played last Thursday night so they were on equal playing field going into the match.

I retract my previous statement about Stopping Brees on a Thursday night. Saints got beat plain and simple.

Thursday night football is still a joke overall though.

Agreed. It's just too short of rest to actually get a quality game in. Not to mention you literally don't have enough time to gameplan (especially if you are the away team). I would be all for doing away with them.

I don't really think it matters that much. It's not like strong teams haven't suffered mid / late season losses before (heck, we did in 2015) and recovered from them. The Saints are probably still the best team in the NFC and last night's game did nothing to make us better.

Said it elsewhere: When we lose a game, you get people saying it was a wake up call and we'll be better for it. But when someone else loses, it's an unmitigated disaster that's going to destroy their season.

They reviewed last night how much pressure Dallas was getting and they weren't getting a lot. Brees counters pressure by dink and dunking. You have to look at the secondary as I knew someone would make a post like this. No one was open last night. Dallas also maybe many one-on-one tackles in open space. Kamara never broke loose. They did a great job with their gameplan and holding the ball on offense. Dallas played man and matched up well because of their speed. It's not the pressure. Again, we don't have the personnel to match up. Brees will destroy our zone defense and get the ball out way before anyone can touch him. The Saints were NOT exposed last night, they just got outplayed and outcoached. Dallas wanted it more. Meanwhile, we'll lose 77-17 on a Monday Night b/c of this staff and personnel which boils down to Hurney.

This team can't get up for poo, no matter how many different t-shirts they wear or what music Cam plays at practice. These old vets simply don't want it anymore. Cam does, but then something holds the team back, whether it be playcalling, special teams or decision making. It's a mess and simply the talent on offense is the reason we even have six wins.

Yeah, the Saints weren't exposed. Dallas simply wanted it more and they stated that all week. Also, had this game been in the dome, i'm sure Dallas would have gotten bullshit calls and the last interception would have been overturned b/c Katrina Rules.

Hurney did his job. Hurney wanted Donte and Ron didn't. Another Donte and we could play more man and less zone. They didn't prioritize speed in their corners in years past. That speed allows you to press and catch up if they move past you. Catch up speed is like a second chance every play.

Even if players play perfect against the Aints Sean Payton has outcoached Ron every gane the past couple years. I'm sure he circles and smiley faces the dates he'll get to humiliate ol' Ron.

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
