Ron Rivera officially on the hot seat.

He needs to replace Hurney, yesterday. A couple good draft picks and trading away Kelvin Benjamin doesn't erase the utter failures of his last tenure here. And while I was initially quite happy with the moves this past offseason, most of it hasn't worked out. I think he deserves some credit for keeping the ship afloat during the transition period between Richardson and Tepper, but it's time to bring in the best possible GM candidate we can find. Then that person can evaluate Rivera and the rest of the staff for potential changes.

FYI: I've been taking a look at recent articles about next year's best coaching candidates. Pretty much everybody I'm interested in is on the lists.

I had been planning on waiting a little longer before posting about it, but with this news I might just go ahead. Probably won't be until this evening though.

He I think Rivers is a nice guy and a great DC. The players really like him, but he refuses to make adjustments (to his staff and calls during the game) and is too loyal to his veteran players. Most of our success has been our players outplaying the other team, very few times I’ve watched a game and thought we out coached that team. I mean we have a HOF qb and a HOF mlb and can’t consistently have good seasons. I mean this year we have Luke, Cam, CMC, Olsen, Peppers, Short, TD, Poe, Reid, Bradberry, R Kalil, Turner, Moore, Samuel, Moton and a possible RDPOY in Jackson. There is no excuse for us to have the record we have with that talent.

It doesn’t start with Ron, it starts with the ownership(minus this case) and Hurney.

So in this case it starts with Hurney, but y’know people rejoiced over a half beat radio announcer amateur trying to manage a football team.

It is quite possible we will be 7-5 and Washington has to go into philly in prime time and Minnesota has to go to foxboro.

We win and they lose we are back on top. We win and one loses we are back in the picture.

So how bout let’s go get a win?

You're over here talking about being in the playoff hunt after a game, before even playing the Saints, and I'm talking about championships. We aren't getting one with Rivera.

But it's Hurney's fault.

I'll be pretty shocked.

What will you say if we don't? Will you still be in favor of giving Rivera another year?

Depends on how far we make it and how the team looks in December since normally it’s our best month. If we don’t make the playoffs, I’ll have a lot of considering to do. Remember however, Ron builds this scheme around our players. Around Cam and Luke. I’m not sure another coach is going to be so willing to do that.

The first step to a superb owl is the playoff hunt. Don’t get ahead of yourself.

Arians wants to coach the Browns. And there are better options out there than him anyway.

I still believe the GM candidate likely comes from the Steelers, probably Omar Khan.

People say things all the time they don’t mean or stick to.

Arians is a long time Browns fan. He's dreamed of coaching them for a good portion of his life.

He means it.

And honestly, he's got a cushy, no pressure job at the moment. Why would you leave that unless it was for something you really badly wanted?

I kinda doubt that.

You want to be scared of what could happen if we hire somebody new? That's fine. I'm more scared of continuing to decline.

As I've said many a time, I'll take a chance on somebody who might be bad over somebody who I know is bad every single time without any hesitation whatsoever.

It’s absolutely to that point. And you, if anyone knows I’ve given Rivera plenty of rope. But the DEF has fallen apart and that’s on him. And his new pupil. And going for two was inexcusable football logic.

I mainly want him and Hurney and anyone involved with football personnel decisions gone. If you worked for JR, bye.

Like what Norv has done but it wouldn’t stop me from burning the FO to the ground.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
