Did players give up on the long run by Landry?

The players gave up during the Steelers game and never decided to give 100% again because Rivera chalked the blowout up to “poo happens”, inexplicably gave the team the weekend off, burned the tape of the game so nothing could be learned from it, and the team never won another game under his watch.

Exactly right

I said it when it happened

unless the CBA prevented it, both players and coaches should have had their happy asses working and fixing the leaks everywhere and learning from it

Thanks for posting.

Dam, that effort makes me want to puke. Adams was Cleveland’s best blocker.

Luke showing how it’s done.

Luke might have been the only defensive player trying to win that game. All the others were asleep dreaming about cashing their bloated paychecks

More people will realize how true this is once Week 17 concludes.

The safeties are slow, and lack instinct.

Reid was given an opportunity to play here to make THIS very kind of play at the line. Adams is hardly the best option in open space.

Davis appears to have jogged. Luke went balls out.

There’s my take.

This dogshit all started in Week 9, vs Tampa.

Like many of you, I was there. Up 35-7, Carolina allowed Tampa right down the field with under a minute left in the half for a touchdown. It was a truly horrible defensive series.

Tampa then scored two more unanswered touchdowns, and were marching for a third before they ran out of gas.

I really feel in the last minute of that first half and the last two quarters of that game—the defense lost a great deal of their confidence, while putting a ton of exposed plays on film for their next round of opponents.

The 3rd and long defense in that game was mind-numbingly bad. You can’t put that mess on film.

I don’t know if many players have “quit” on the season. I do feel there’s an absolute lack of chemistry and energy defensively.

I can literally feel the lethargy through the TV.

I think at least seven defensive starters have already quit. I’ll exclude Luke, TD, Pep and Jackson, who’s gotten some bum calls lately.

On offense, eight starters have already mailed it in. Cam hasn’t, but he’s in a horrible slump and clearly not himself. He’s also begun to lose confidence, which Monday ain’t gonna help. Otherwise, CMC and Moore are the only ones out there trying on offense. I’ll add Thomas too. He’s just still raw AF.

Cam is dealing with a major injury, and simply can’t make certain throws. These defenses are adjusting accordingly. His lack of downfield accuracy (10+ yd) is astounding. Don’t let the completion % fool you. Lot of that is shovels, checkdowns, Texas routes, screens, etc.

There’s no energy on defense. I'll never accuse another grown man of quitting, but what’s being put out there isn’t good enough

Granted, Reid took a poor angle there, but he also clearly slipped on the turf then subsequently taken out by a 300+ lb OL. There were players who weren’t even touched and barely affected the play. Luke outrunning like 3-4 guys for the TD saving tackle was pretty heinous, but a staple in the era of Rivera coached teams. Shitty play everywhere else, stunning play from the franchise stalwarts.

Luckily for Luke, he’s treated like fine china in regards to preserving his health and hasn’t been broken to pieces by this staff, yet.
