No point in firing him now besides pleasing the fans. Strategically tho there really is no point. Expect this whole staff gone by the end of January.

This,

if it was going to happen it would have happened two weeks ago. Firing him now with two weeks to go is stupid and won’t help start any process or do anything. Panthers still have 1 more home game and probably don’t want to have the stadium empty

Panthers coach Ron Rivera didn't exactly sound like a coach who has been given a vote of confidence by owner David Tepper for next season during Tuesday's press conference Asked if he hates questions about his future, Rivera said: “Absolutely, because I don't know. I've been through it a couple of times my first two seasons. But at the end of the day it comes down to one person, and that's the only one that knows.'' When asked if he wants to be back, Rivera responded: “That is a stupid question. That really is, and I'm not going to answer that one. I'm very happy where I am. I do appreciate my place here on this football team and in this city and in this community.''

Actually I think there might be. While the season is all but lost because we have a .0000001% chance to get into the playoffs, I think it would send a clear message to the players on the team, and ones we will pursue in FA and the draft, that the days of family run organization is over for good. Business is business and needs to be treated as such. Do your job, or you will be shown the door.

I think that is pretty much understood by everyone in the building.  Those that do not will learn soon enough.  If it takes someone getting fired to motivate them the they are not worth keeping.
