What have Rivera and Hurney been up to?

Never thought Tepper would be a guy to accept incompetence but it appears I was wrong.

Don't mistake being patient and analytical about the big picture as accepting incompetence. If we get similar results next season, then we'll have new management.

There is literally nothing positive about the way the season ended and where we stand right now.

We have a beast of a running back, a young receiver who flashed plenty of talent, a young TE who absolutely showed that he is up to the task of replacing an old stalwart in decline and a young cornerback who was better than expected for the most part, so promising that he will probably anchor one side of the field for many years to come along with another guy on the other side who showed more consistency as the season went on. I would say where we stand right now is not a garden of negativity.

Would you like for me and the others to say something positive about them?

(I won't mean it, but if it'll make you feel better...)

I'm not really sure what you expect. We just watched an epic collapse of a season, and this after going into it with high hopes. Now, despite the fact that this and every other season where they've been in charge has been lousy, the architects of that collapse have been trusted to come back and run the team for yet another year.

How exactly would you suggest people should feel about that?

Many here aren't happy with them being back yet aren't here all the time whining about them. None of your posts in this thread have had anything to do with the subject. Comment on whether them meeting with Tep for that long is good or bad, makes no difference or whatever , but just replying with the same exact thing you've been spewing here for weeks now is pointless. We all know your opinion on it, posting it hundreds of times doesn't help anything. Not a whole lot different than @Nails bringing up Hardy all the time.

In the future, I'll make sure I submit my posts for your approval.

You said it better than me. I was just going to say that it's tiring.

Negative Nancy is negative.

Yep it's pretty rough around here, with whining about coach/GM and then the Cam situation... I'm confident Cam will heal up before week 1 and Rivera can turn things around with the defense. Never been a big Hurney fan but if he has anothe draft like last year there is a ton to be excited about next year.

Just sharing my thoughts... take them or leave them, I'm fine either way. I will tell you though, this forum is better with you than without you so if you do take a break because of the state of the team (as I recall you alluding to) don't make it too long...

I'm undecided, but thanks. My enthusiasm for this team is at an all time low right now, and I'm far from alone in that feeling.

I'm sure someone will come along to tout themselves as a better fan than me because of this.  I honestly don't care.

Honestly think Tepper isnt willing to risk losing Rivera at the moment.  He probably thinks Rivers is a good coach that with some support from the owner and a front office that Rivers is a winning coach.

I don't Tepper is just sitting around and doing nothing. I bet he is getting the business side straight and the football side will be next.  But would be nice to hear something is happening. Dont expect detailed explanation but atleast Tepper or Glick having a press conference to give us a idea of what future holds.

No, you aren't alone.  Keeping Rivera doesn't thrill me but keeping Hurney with Rivera disappoints me big time.

I was hoping for more than a shield at mid-field and all-black uniforms.  I am going to give it more time because I think Tepper deserves that, but if next year is no different, I will probably be where you are right now.

Tepper probably gave ol' Hurndog and RR his vision for the future of this franchise. RR has until his contract expires to deliver results, and Hurney will share in Ron's fate. Hurney is well liked by the Panthers organization, but his ex-wife is a different story allegedly.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
