Eagles looking to trade Foles. Would you want him?

This is like the third QB thread Igo's created in the past week. It sounds like you've officially hopped off the Cam bandwagon eh?

No, according to Spotrac Foles has a hit of $20M next year. That would be ridiculous for a potential backup. Also we saw in the last two games Heinicke and Allen--both of which never started--did fairly well in Norv Turner's offense.

He  gave up on this place after 2015  I dont blame him but it's obviously not a priority or interest now

The Eagles have a long history of fleecig teams in QB trades. With that said, I think they may be trading the wrong QB. Wentz is the better QB, but the Eagles seem to be a better football team with Foles. No clue how they'd let this information leak while they're in the playoffs. Talking about an unnecessary distraction.

A lot of people don't understand that, which is why as you said they'll probably fleece another team. Foles will go someone else in a new system and won't be as good

To be fair though, that was under Andy Reid.

This might be one of those rare situations where both teams get fleeced. The team that trades for Foles will probably be disappointed while the Eagles fleece themselves by trading the wrong QB.

Two 20+ million dollar QBs. Huddle smart.

We can talk in wants— none of us has control of what happens.

Chip Kelly went all mad scientist with Phily before and there was nothing the fans could do.

if Tepper decides to have them keep Cam Rivera and Hurney, he does, if he decide to have them go get Case Keenan and trade CMac and get Elmer Fud to be our starting running back, all we can do is complain.

so while we are here in this moment without anything in the way of control,..

we can want to draft or sign or trade anyone we wish. And of course you and others are free to complain and bash without any solutions or originality of your own.

Most coordinators can’t adjust to players, so they have to get “their guy”.

the coordinators that can will be able to adjust their plays and systems to the player.

Chip Kelly and Pederson and Belicheck and Wade Phillips and Sean McVae, Sean Payton are  football gods with changing to their players.

Nick or Wentz would have to be traded to a team that can— if so you get Super Bowl Foles. If not you get Rams Foles.

the one thing they can’t fix is the X Factor— Foles has it, and he stays healthy— Wentz is a great quarterback but doesn’t have the x-factor and he’s broken all the time.

they trade Wentz. That’s what you have to do.

    • As I've said numerous times the last few days, having Thielen on the field has literally 0% to do with my views on this (I've even said I think Renfrow is going to take a ton of snaps from Thielen anyways).  He has more value to this team without playing a single snap than a 2026 5th round draft pick does for the franchise.   His value is helping set up T-Mac, XL, Coker, and Horn for long term success by helping them learn how to be pros, how to go about their business, how to train, how to do all the little things that helped turn Thielen from a D2 undrafted player into a borderline Vikings legend.
    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
