Why not see if he's healthy first? Even if it is as a back up he's better the Newhouse. We still need a back up. Moto at LT, Williams or somebody at RT. Kahlil backs up LT and move Moton to RT in emergency. Now, if Clark stays around then I would rethink this. He would be a good back up but would be cheap to offset the dead money of Kahlil?

Yeah, there would be dead money for the next 3 years of about $5M per year, but there would also be cap-savings in the first year of over $7M and the next two years of $11M and $11.5M (base salary + roster + work-out bonuses).

Does it really matter what the cap numbers are?  We all know what Hurney does under pressure, he reaches in the draft, trades future assets and spends like a valley girl with daddy's credit card.

Cut him, who cares?  As soon as Hurney was brought back we knew the cap would be a disaster.

Given his current status on IR, June 1 isn't going to change anything for 2019. He's going to hit our cap for over 12 million bucks unless he passes a physical or renegotiates. His 2019 salary is currently fully guaranteed for injury. The only gain is a roster spot which will add cap burden. Talk about it again spring of 2020.

I think you have to let him compete in training camp, before you cut him.  If he balls out, then I'd give him one more season.  There's a lot of ambiguity about his health.  If health really has been a determining factor the past two seasons then you have to see where you're at this year.  Plus I don't want him to get away with Sam Bradfording us.  I say throw him to the wolves....give him an extremely heavy workload and force his ass to earn some of that cheddar.

  He’s healthy and can and will be cut as soon as the new league year starts. He’s going to hit our books for 4.9M of dead money this year. 9.8M next year. That’s it. He was healthy last year and they still wouldn’t play him because of that injury guarantee. It makes no financial or common sense to give him another penny ever again.
