Possible Soon To Be Speedy WR FA...

Desean Jackson is hands down a better WR than Ted Ginn and we're still trying to put speed on the field and create WR separation, right. Well here's how, according to this article on NFL.com, the Bucs maybe, maybe, releasing Jackson. I'd love to have him here...

I'd take him in a heartbeat and I know Cam likes him but the real question is will Cam's arm be healthy enough to utilize Jackson's speed? Plus where does Deshean fit into our WR room? He stealing reps from Moore and Samuel bc you know he wants to be the starter.

I hear you and I hope that Cam's arm is back to full strength for the entire season. If it is; Jackson, Moore, Samuel, Olsen/Ian Thomas and McCaffery. Dangggg

A couple years ago, would be all over it.  The questions surrounding Cam's shoulder, and our improved young WRs?  Not seeing the fit.

This. With Moore and Samuel, I just don't see the point of spending valuable cap space on Jackson. I think we'll look to add a WR this off-season, but I think we'll probably look for a bigger target to replace Funchess.

Would have been nice about 3 years ago.  Now somewhat redundant.

A team has just so much capital (cap space and draft picks).  At some point if you allocate too much of that capital to the same position or style of player you are devaluing your own players because there are only so many snaps/targets to go around.

Agree with LG and others.... no need for this type of WR with Cam's shoulder issues. A Funchess replacement that can be a big red zone target and balance our young, speedy guys is more important to me. I'd love Tyrell Williams from SD, but his price tag is probably going to be out of our range for the position.

Cutting Torrey might help, but still have too many other holes to fill to justify throwing big money at Williams.

I don't think that adding Jackson would lower the value on Samuels or Moore. Adding Jackson would open up the passing attack for them, much like McCaffrey does now. McCaffrey was targeted 124 times with a completion percentage of 86.3, highest on the team and he's a RB. We need a WR that makes the defense respect the position.

Let me get this straight you want to add a guy who is known for the deep ball, when our QB shoulder is in question for the immediate future?

Lets wait and see if Cam will be able to throw the ball 50 yards again, before we waste money on Jackson.

Also Curtis Samuel can stretch the field you know?

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
