I'm sorry, but I don't put much stock into PFF. It was plain to see that the offensive line and receivers is what failed in the big game.

What metric would you like to use. Do you have anything but your highly biased opinion? Maybe you can find articles highlighting how bad the OL was? Should be no problem. Just skip past PFF on your google search.

The Broncos defense weren’t laughing at our players. They made direct statements about lack of adjustments. Shula.

Dave had inexperience issues to overcome and made other mistakes, but waving Steve Smith was not one of them. His handling was poor.

There have been plenty of rumors of Smitty openly cussing out Newton and getting in his face/bowing up a couple of times too. Each different time the Panther leadership told him to stop, he kept doing it.

TBF, you're one in a million with most of those millions trying to resell it. I wouldn't even bother with it. They've been told to avoid people without kids and most of those people now just use their kids to get the signature. Maybe he had a bad day, who knows. Can't go out just calling someone an asshole.

I realize that, but Garrett was by himself--I was standing 20 feet away, back.  I had a camera to get a shot of Smitty  with Garrett to frame and put beside the jersey.  If your child's teacher treated your child that way, I doubt you would accept the "had a bad day," excuse.  To your point--autographs should be for kids,  but  that does not excuse his actions toward a child--my son was shaken by the incident--you  can't excuse that, sorry.  TBF, if you had been there you would have thought, "what an asshole."  Everyone around us was stunned and said so.

I also watched him verbally abuse Dwayne Jarrett during his rookie OTA.  I watched Smith.  He only really interacted with one teammate informally--Kasay, oddly enough.

Smitty sucker punched 2 teammates.  He harassed qbs for not throwing to him.  (Clausen to the press).

If that is not an asshole, please help me understand what an asshole is.

What he said above. The Broncos D basically said they were ready for everything we ran. Shula gave Remmers no help with Miller which might be as stupid as you get but didn’t have an issue going to Tolbert multiple times.

As much as everyone here hates KB, he would have been the difference maker in that game. He was our best weapon week 1 of 2016 and that was the first game back. Man, of all the people who probably weren’t mentally equipped to handle an injury like that, we had some bad luck there. He looked so good in preseason, as did the rest of the team that gelled in the 2014 run into the playoffs. If he doesn’t tear his ACL, might have been a whole different person.

KB wasn't going to do anything that year. 3 catches for 36 yards isn't "so good." We mjght not have won 15 games that year with Benjamin. Our speed and lack of a primary #1 was one of our biggest strengths.

And DG was a dick to everyone he delt with, which is why he got axed.

He recognized the emotional attachments  RR and JR  had with  players and tried to set the tone--yes, he made some folks upset.  I tell my students that anyone can be a leader 95% of the time.  It is when the leader has to  separate from the crowd and make a tough, objective decision--the 5% that makes him a leader.  Gettlemen did that, but I am not sure his decisions were good.

Actually was more about our dumbass owner (who coincidentally was trying to stick his dick into half the people he dealt with).

Yeah look at what Giant fans are saying and Gettleman is getting rid of everyone there as well. People can poo on me all they want but he never got this team 3 division titles and a super bowl appearance. It was all Cam, Luke, Olsen, and TD. Gettleman was a terrible GM and Hurney is not better. But the team wants to be mediocre so i guess that's what I get to pull for!

Not at all.

He got axed because he refused to extend the contracts of a couple of aging veterans,  and the unstable and ill-tempered owner got really mad and had a knee jerk reaction -- which was to fire Mr. Gettleman.

The Panthers are worse off for it...

What are you talking about? KB has 6 catches for 91 yards and a TD against Denver in week 1 after the Super Bowl. The whole we would have been worse with Benjamin instead of Cotchery is laughable and still one of the silliest arguments ever seeing how it ignores everything else that fell apart. KB was looking fantastic in preseason in 2015.

Now that we have another season without KB we are 13-12 without KB and 11-13 with KB since 2015. Man, what a difference. It must have been KB coming back that made us suck. With a healthy and stable OL, we’re 13-7 since 2016 and we’re 11-18 once we lost a key tackle and had to shuffle around. Hmm, maybe that #2 ranked OL and the +20 turnover margin (best since 2011) had more impact on 2015’s success than having Cotchery instead of KB. Heck Ganope lost 4 games in 2016. If he kicks like 2017, we’re 10-6 even with the injuries

Blaming KB for 2016 and saying he’s the reason we were 15-1 is just lazy analysis especially after 2018.

KB had 3 catches for 56 yards in preseason. Nothing fantastic about that. KB isn't a good WR. We are better without him. Our record without KB after 2015 would be better, if not for Cam's noodle arm.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
