Outside of the Panthers players who live in uptown pretty much 100% of the others live north of town with many congregating around Lake Norman.  Julius Peppers set the precedent a decade ago and players have been following him to the Lake Norman area ever since (lots of NASCAR drivers up there too, and the Curry's, etc).

Commuting to South Carolina will be a major inconvenience to the vast majority of Panthers players.

Not exactly.

Lake Norman is the epitome of inconvenience for working in Charlotte.

Peppers was trying to sell his lake house for years. If it was the place to be for Panther players one would have bought it from him.

The big names live in uptown or South of town.

Why would anyone care that a bunch of Millionaires have to sit in traffic for 30 or 45 minutes to get to work? If they don't like it they can just buy a home closer to the new facility.

I bet the commute is better than practices in a hotel ballroom.

Still haven’t heard a single word from CLT City Council

i think the new mayor is actually doing a good job, but the council is an embarrassment and has no intention of doing anything

businesses are getting in line to leave the city limits and move to SC...and the council could care less

Platitudes...all Democrats are good for

Who cares where the players live?  For reference, the Falcons having training camp and team HQ in Flowery branch, 45 miles from the stadium.

It gets the players connected to the place where they work. I'd hate going from living in Uptown to living in York...freaking...South Carolina

What Free Agents are we going to bring in?

Its Charlotte, not Manhattan or Miami. Nobody gets excited to live in uptown Charlotte.

The nicest neighborhood are all down south anyway
