Assess the Panthers defense this far

How do you think the defense has looked so far?

To my eyes they look great in the first half, then as they spend extended time on the field they wear down. 

If the offense can start to clock and get some third downs converted, I feel like the defense could be much improved.

Also, that Burns kid is going to be a good one for many years to come. Already looks like our best edge.

Pretty solid so far. Still some weaknesses, especially with getting gashed for big runs up the middle. Pass defense is better than expected. Not as much pressure as expected, but that may come with some more game experience.

As I said before, whenever he has a melt down his next game he usually has a QBR of 90+.

They have their moments for sure. Some good, some bad.

Hard to really be dominant when you don’t have the luxury of playing with a comfortable lead.

They've been great overall. Really can't  blame them for getting gassed when the offense can't score.

I think we've looked good when we've been in tbe 3-4 but we keep reverting back to the 4-3 and look bad.  Its as if Washington is still calling the shots

To be fair to the defense they are on the field too much. Offense needs to sustain to give them a break.

Defense is like a pop tart. 

Why so people keep making excuses for the defense? They can't do this or that because the offense can't score or whatever. The defense is paid to play defense regardless of what the offense does and vice versa. 

Or pass defense has been ok. Although still giving to much cushion to WR's, which opens up slants. Thus is RR though, because Bradberry likes to play press. 

We have little to no pass rush. Why change the defense only to play the same?

There is nothing positive to glean from this iteration of the Panthers.

IMO, this team is more disappointing than 2010.

Umm im surprised that the run defense is borderline...SUCKY.smh

Its an average defense. Elite defenses have carried worse offenses than this to fuging SB.

Rivera defense has always been overrated because they never have a stout secondary.
