Former b/u qb Derek Anderson and d lineman Damian Lewis were interviewed on WFNZ,;

Said only idiots judge Cam on what he wears

Said his sprain is still bothering him, one reason why he isn’t running. Could be mid season before he can run effectively.

Said his shoulder is probably fine, just needs to get time with his weapons and get comfortable in the pocket

Said it’s not Cam’s fault that the o-line is allowing so much pressure

Said Darryl Williams need to be moved, start Greg Little

Said Hurney, Ron and others will lose their jobs if things don’t turn around

Why fire Hurney if things don't turn around? He went and got pieces for the defense. He didn't tell the coaches to switch Williams and Moton. Its not Hurney fault Cam shoulder fuged up and its taking time that we don't have to work through it. The same goes for Gettleman. They both put "enough" pieces around to NOT lose 9 out of last 10

That's Ronald to blame. I understand the concept of cleaning house and Hurney goes, cool but don't put the blame at Hurney feet for this.

All pretty reasonable takes. Even if this team rallies and finishes say, 8-8, I would be extremely angry if they kept Ron. It's playoffs or bust. He's supposed to be a defensive guy, taking over the play calling, and his defense still isn't that great despite numerous 1st round draft picks and highly paid players. Cam's struggles aside the defense should be dominating and it isn't. And it's not like Tampa Bay is sporting a world beater offense yet they still got torn up by Chris Godwin (WHO?)

Who would you put over there? Moton?

Yep.

With the technique problems that Little has, even an only halfway decent professional defensive end would eat him alive.

All you have to do is stay just a little bit out of his radius and he'll reach for you and put himself off balance.

This thread will be glossed over for the obligatory “Cam shouldn’t dress this way thread” that’s bound to pop up in an hour, but it’s still great getting some affirmation of Cam’s status that doesn’t rely on shitty takes from JoeBlowPanthers62 on the Huddle.

And I agree, Cam’s ankle has got to be the reason (or at least a source) as to why he chooses not to run anymore.

Yeah, trust me, I think Little is a lost cause. Not sure Moton is the answer.

One thing we can both expect, changes won't happen.

    • Okay then. To me that means Russell Wilson was Coryell. Because I see the proposition completely in the Russell Wilson punt/pass put it up for grabs mold. Count on the receiver to catch it or knock it down.    And the reason I thought that was the intent with Legette is the abysmal downfield game from 2023. As in, there was barely any.   I look at it as if… the result of a deep attempt isn’t as important as the opponent understanding they have to defend it. So I was all for some 50/50s. Coryell, Walsh whoever.  I do favor the Coryell approach personally but also very much value versatility, it doesn’t have to be strict. Just make the defense defend the whole field, however you do it. It has to include downfield throws.
    • Sold, or in the process of being sold. Could be either way. Consider this for a second... Last season, our defensive coordinator steered what many have called the worst defense in NFL history.  Canales would absolutely have been justified in firing him, and no one would have blamed him if he had.  But what did he do? He gave Evero another chance to come back and prove he could be better. Does that tell us something about Canales? I think it does. Now apply that to Bryce 😕
    • Canales has never been part of big YAC offenses in the NFL.  That’s not his tree.  Not in Seattle, Tampa or here.  Every O he has been associated with basically has been bottom half of the league in YAC.  That’s what Bryce needs to happen though  2 very different things….and very much gets into why the middle school QB doesn’t fit
