There’s very little we know right now. We know Houston’s next, and we know Allen has been good. If it’s a Lisfranc injury, you’d be lucky to get Cam back at all this year. Depending on the degree of it, which again, is an unknown.

If Allen lights the board up the next two weeks I would figure Cam gets IRed with return status. If Cam comes back to early from this he could permanently disable himself.

I’m proud of KA for carrying over the momentum from the New Orleans game. But it gets harder this week.

Definitely.

Bill Parcells once famously said of a player who looked good in his first few starts "Don't be fitting him for his gold jacket just yet." It takes several starts, honestly more than a season, before you really know what you've got in a player.

That works both ways, though.

During his rookie season, Ryan Kalil remembers teammates laughing at him for how many mistakes he made. His "Rookie Handbook" is built on stories like that. And by the way, he only turned out to be the best center in Panthers history.

Like I said, everybody wants to be the one to say "I called it first". I say quit trying to be Nostradumbass and take the time to make sure you get your opinion right.

What Allen gives the panthers at worst is what the rest of the team is capable of. People have complained for years about the lack of Oline help and offensive weapons that the team has given CAM. The next few months will prove 1 of 3 things:

1. Allen struggles and we realize there isn't a capable backup plan at QB and the offensive weapons, protection, or game plan is the issue, not Cam

2. Allen does okay, maybe goes .500 or a bit under and it proves that the the weapons, protection and game plan are sufficient and Cam should be able to execute once healthy. Then the only question is, once he is healthy, will he???

3. Allen does well and we start to question what we thought was the unthinkable. Maybe Cam can't cut it anymore.

Regardless, I think if nothing else, we will get some clarity on the supporting cast over the next months.

I think that's how you will see DJ Moore turn out. His Rookie season was woof.

I'm good with that. Let him get fully healthy and itching to get out on the field again. He's seemed a little defeated on the field this season, and that's not normal. I'd like to see him out there playing like his hair is on fire again.

We'd be 3-0 if Cam had been able to show decent touch on intermediate throws in the first two games. Allen has shown that he can do that. We've got a defense that can keep us in games if we can generate 20+ points and take care of the ball. I believe Allen can do that with our starters.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
