Canfora says Falcons could fire Quinn this Sunday

Wonder who will coach them in their 2 games against us?

“If they lay an egg, if they find a way to lose that game, I suspect that’s the end,” La Canfora said. “Look at their schedule from Week 7 through Week 14. It’s becoming an inevitability that Dan Quinn won’t be their head coach in 2020.”

From Week 7 to 14, the Falcons play the Rams, Seahawks, Saints (twice), Panthers (twice) and Buccaneers. Those teams are a combined 16-9.

Quinn’s potential firing couldn’t come at a worse time. The Falcons have invested a lot in veterans Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, who will take up nearly $54 million of cap space in 2020, $59 million in 2021 and $58.8 million in 2022.

“That’s a difficult spot, guys,” La Canfora said. “They’ve got half of their cap tied up in five players who aren’t going anywhere – and not everybody likes those players as much as they do.”

I honestly hope they do just enough to keep Quinn tbh. I hope they wipe the Cardinals like 62-0. If the Falcons were to get a young innovative offense mind with that talent, could be scary.

Tbh that could be said about the Browns and Dolphins. Falcons sucks because their owner dictates too much. Not that Quins defense isn't poo though because it is.

Browns and Dolphins aren't in our division though. Last thing we need is for the Falcons to get a competent head coach who can use their weapons right.

Yeah I never root for a division foe to flat out crash and burn because that can bring wholesale changes that could turn them around quickly . Instead I would rather see them slowly drown in mediocrity for half a decade and win just enough that nobody gets fired... wait.. this hits kinda close to home now that I think about it ...

    • TBF it was our 2nd shot, apparently...
    • It's a fine line. The D pairings could definitely use some more time to gel. And, I'd love to see the top line work it's way out of the scoring funk they've been in before the playoffs. On the other hand, we were eliminated last season directly because of a lack of experienced depth. I think Reilly and Leggo are light-years ahead of where Morrow, or even playoffs Nikki, was last year. But, this postseason it could be the forward group that gets hit. Id love to get Nads some time with the top 6 before the season is out.
    • Ten mins in and the Pens dont have a sog yet... . Dont jinx freddie it would be totally Freddie to also 1 sog 1 goal
