I don't think we can bench Kyle Allen...

The problem I have is Cam moving on and we're being stuck with Ron. I get everybody riding high, but I don't see Ron leading us to a SB victory with Cam or with Allen... sorry

I sort of agree. It is great to win these games, but this team still feels short one player. I don’t think that is Cam, either. I can’t put my finger on it. I think we need a Ted Ginn Jr over the top to be elite. We haven’t used any of our WR’s in that role. Maybe, that is what is missing. The defense feels elite, the offense there is just something missing. I know this, if we need 2 yards to win the Super Bowl on 4th down, I have little faith we make it. It’s still early in the season, maybe we will get even better. Who knows.

He strikes me as a good game manager who doesn’t turn it over. I can’t picture him engineering a huge come back with his own talents. He’s operating well in our system and spreading the ball around to play makers.

However, he doesn’t strike me as a talent that could carry you to the mountain top. Unless it’s like the two Ravens Super Bowls where the qb is just asked not to lose the game.

Eh I dont care either way who starts.(unless cam  clearly returns to his old mvp  form then yeah!!!)

But Kyle is very close to being a turnover machine. Isnt he always fumbling? What if the Panthers dont recover those.

What I see in kyle is a qb who makes the standard good pass. He more Consistent with his accuracy than cam. And the defense is playing great and oline/mccaffrey has been great. Even backup Daley at left tackle wasn't allowing pressure.( Hurney drafts great so far.)

But Kyle has been hitting the easy open targets that cam had been missing . That's the biggest difference. The rest is just the overall team gelling and playing much better.

You cant tell me this is the same defense that played jameis the first time. A million times different. One they are starting to get turnovers rapidly. That's the mark of an potentially elite defense.

I actually figured he might get his first interception today. Didn't happen.

On the one throw to the end zone that was almost picked, he was throwing it to the right spot. Had it in the air before Samuel turned (which is typically how you draw it up) what's Samuel fought for it and won (which is what he's supposed to do).

I'd say we have a longball threat in Curtis Samuel.

With that said, you don't necessarily need that guy if you can hit receivers in stride on short-to-intermediate routes and let them run with it.

he didn't ever lose the job, so he doesn't have to win it back. this is so easy

I'm not so sure about that. Ron's presser was telling.  A few weeks back Ron very confidently stated that when Cam was healthy he would be the starter. Fast forward to today's presser and he gave no such guarantee. He said he wouldnt answer the question until he has too.  If you read between the lines that's definitely acknowledging that there is a controversy. Otherwise he, just like he answered a few weeks ago, would have reiterated that Cam was going to start when he was ready to come back.

Just now, electro's horse said:

the other thing is Cam's contract is designed for him to get an extension this season. If they cut him it frees up like 16 million in cap space.

surely no one is suggesting the panthers extend him after this...

Yeah, I couldn't sign on to that.

That'd be just as bad as Jake's "thank you" contract (and would probably cost more).

I know but I have only seen one throw of 40 or more yards from Allen. Samuel could be that guy, and we need someone to stretch the field, to open it up for McCaffery. I though we would see lots of deep throws today, didn’t happen.

Well if anyone ever claims you're an F150 revver because you like what you're seeing out of KA, boy are they mistaken. You're one of the fiercest liberals I've ever interacted with.
