I'm not convinced we're a good team.

Have said it a couple of times: We're good enough to beat bad teams, but I question whether we can do more than that.

I think they are good against certain kinds of teams. They match up favorably against some personnel and schemes, and unfavorably v others.

I always felt like Fox's teams played to the level of their competition, for better or worse.  Rivera is just massively disappointing every once in a while... heh.

I think the notion that Rivera may not be all that well equipped to win in today's NFL might actually have some merit.

That's not a profile that says 'playoffs" to me

They are certainly good enough to make a run at a WC but getting into the tournament is a tough one this year.

There was no reason to lose 51-13. That was just poor planning and poor effort. Kyle played like crap, and so did most everybody else. He’s a quarterback who made his 6th career start and got absolutely no help from his defense or his offensive line.

And those losses have happened a little too often for my appetite w this regime. Remember, Carolina was suffocated by New Orleans twice in 2017. Last year, Pittsburgh. 2016, Seattle. 2014, Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Cam Newton was active for all of those losses. He wasn’t THE reason they lost, but he was in those games. Point is: it’s never one person’s fault. It takes a village to get your ass kicked by that many points.

There's a quotable line (that I just quoted).

I've said before that I think our current leadership has enough to make us good, but not great. Folks take the times that we look good as encouragement that we can be better, but I'm still waiting for that to actually happen.

...after 9 years, what you see is what you get. Rivera hasn’t win a big game against better teams in some time now

that showing after the bye week, inexcusable

Dude if a halfway decent defensive mind makes an even half assed effort to stop this bullshit dump off poo the Niners offense does, they’ll get destroyed. I’ve seen Jimmy G pass further than 5 yards like four times total in every single Niner game I’ve watched. It’s just awful.

NFC is stacked this year.  I don't think we're a wild card team, quite frankly.

This.

If they played the Bills, McDermott would eat that poo alive.

Our inability to adjust and fix that poo fast is inexcusable.

They should keep doing it until it stops working. The point is to win not do difficult things.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
