I think Hurney deserves at least ten more years before we pass judgment

hurney would get 20 years to turn it around while any other GM that would hold personnel to a level of accountability would get 2 months to turn it around before the whole board turns on him. this community has a weird obsession with wanting it to work out with marty.

I think you are correct that we have some young talent but you are definitely overstating some guys. It’s why the lauding of the past couple drafts was way too early. Haynes, Miller and CArter have shown some flashes. They would be below average starters and weak spots if we counted on them every week. Jackson has been the same. Moore, Burns and I think Thomas are all we really have that will be above average to solid starters. Daley and Little got some good press but they’ve looked like donkey poo a lot as well. In the same way as more tape got to Allen, the same may happen here. Chris Clark and Van Roten started 2018 well and went into the toilet as the season went a long.

We are in the need of a talent infusion in a bad way unless Cam, Short, Turner and Paradis can somehow turn around the health and performance issues. I’m not optimistic at all.

I've watched this game for a long time, and I know that you can't judge rookies, especially lineman in year one. You can make judgments about Haynes, Miller and particularly Carter all your like. Just because they aren't necessarily starting material in year one doesn't mean they'll never be. Moreover, they don't need to be and weren't meant to be starters this year. Bottom line: they're not "garbage," and our roster is probably better because of them, relative to other backups on other rosters, and this isn't an overstatement.

At which point is Hurney responsible for the general direction of the team?  When does it become less of a series of unfortunate flukes and more like a pattern?

Literally the last time he put together a roster that won a playoff game was 2005.  Drew Brees and Sean Payton weren't in New Orleans then.  Michael Vick was still a Falcon.

Also if you want to point out the number of Pro Bowlers he's drafted or how good he is in the first round or some other cherry picked bullshit I don't give a fug.

Back to back winning seasons under Hurney: 0

Back to back division titles under Hurney: 0

Back to back playoff appearances under Hurney: 0

The only thing I can think of is nostalgia.  Like they all remember watching X Clown in their Spider Man pajamas and think that if they just hang in there Hurney can do it again.

Tepper said the right stuff when he got here but hanging on to Marty after this really throws a turd in the punchbowl for me.

He didn't really dive in specifically about what he's going to do. It sounds like its unknown.

I hope like hell he makes the right decision, whatever that is.  I'm just some dumbass who gets drunk on his couch watching this team every Sunday but it seems to me like if you're going to shitcan the coaching staff then the seat of whoever put it together in the first place should be on fire too.
