Good luck trying to bully the dude that made his fortune while others were laughing at him.

id laugh if he bought every panthers website and shut them all down ha. Keep in mind he famously bought an ex bosses house and bulldozed it.

His past has nothing to do with football.

JR had lots of football experience. So did Ron. What’s your point? Tepper is going to do everything he can to make the Panthers good. That is more than most owners around the league do. He’ll make mistakes, but at least we know he is turning over every rock.

Seriously, is there a realistic scenario that would make you happy? You strike me as a guy who would have been furious at Robert Kraft because the patriots when 6-10 his second season.

A successful football owner doesn’t make a successful hedge fund manager. A successful hedge fund manager doesn’t make a successful football owner. Tepper better fire Marty Hurney after this season and start surrounding himself with successful football people or he will run this city down to the ground. Brass balls my assss.

Dumb.  Owning a burger restaurant doesn't make you a great NFL owner either.  This is the most worthless thread ever.

He's taking smart steps. I liked RR but a change was needed and he did it at the right time. He still needs Hurney but is getting someone else involved to help and eventually take over when the time is right. He'll  eventually make the right decision on Cam (whatever that is). He's making calculated moves. And he's been around football for years as a minority owner with a great franchise so he does have some intimate knowledge of what works and doesn't on the football side. He just needed time to evaluate and learn what he had. Will he win the future, who knows and he doesn't, but he was honest that he thinks what he's looking to build will bring sustainable success. Nothing to do with his money but he's success in growing his wealth from nothing is pretty damm impressive. I'll give him all the time he needs.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
