Tepper and McDaniels "on each other's radar"

I think if you put it up to fans, the more popular choice would be Greg Roman.

Breer made it sound like Roman might get an interview, the team has serious interest in Josh McDaniels.

For the record, McDaniels is not my first choice either

Mine either but I wouldn't hate it, would prefer they hire Rhule or Schottenheimer personally

McDaniels started 6-0 and finished 11-17. He lost 17 of his last 23 games. Nothing about his abysmal tenure as Broncos head coach inspires confidence. Also, remember when he was a Colts head coach for a minute before he changed his mind?

Hard, hard, HARD pass.

I'm torn.

Part of me thinks he has what it takes to make a winner.

Part of me is terrified of any assistant under Belichick

All of me would be fascinated with how it turns out.

That's where I'm at for the most part, though I'm leaning more towards the guy knows what to do to win than dwelling on the other baggage.

Whatever happens sure would be entertaining to watch.

Bill Belichick's record in Cleveland was 36-44. I wouldn't write off Josh McDaniels because of his work in Denver. The Indianapolis situation has been cleared up as well. I'd be excited to see what he can do here.

I will absolutely write him off. How often do retreads of sh*tty coaches work? How often have Pats tree coaches worked? This would be an insanely idiotic hire.

Again: He won 5 of his last 23 games in Denver.

5/23.

That’s horrendous and that’s the opposite of sustained excellence.

None of that has anything to do with the current situation in Carolina with this group of players and front office.

It shows a totally inept coach in over his head. Let someone else take this gamble. Name me one other team that hired a Pats coach and hasn’t been burned.

Im not convinced that the Greg Roman offence is not a flash in the pan type offence... While what McDaniels is doing in NE works with sub-par talent (even when Brady is not playing)

    • This And with possibly needing to replace Bryce next year and a deep QB class, I do not hate the idea of moving far enough back to pick up another 1st rounder next year out of the deal. I wouldn't have said that a week ago, but I also never expected us to land 3 big FA's at our 3 biggest positions of need like we have, it totally changes things.
    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
