It will be cheaper next year to get Cam a LT than draft a QB

Need to spend next off-season getting the OL fixed anyways. Get that damn line fixed before we go out and get a new franchise QB.

If Cam can't go, go get a loaner vet from FA like rivers or someone.

Don't need to be investing in a new QB until we've got a line to block in front of him though. Don't need to wreck someone's career before it gets going.

totally agree

I wouldnt blame the Panthers for drafting 3 Olineman and signing 2 more in free agency. Its that bad and it needs to be fixed permanently.

Tepper told Hurney to make it a priority this past offseason... didn't work out

To his credit Hurney did try, it's the players that just didnt work out. He drafted 2 Oline , resigned Williams, and signed Paradis, which in theory should have been plenty to overhaul the line with Moton and Tuner supposedly being good already.

Turns out Paradis sucked, Little was good early but couldn't stay healthy, and Daley was servicable for his draft position but not a long term answer at LT by any means.

Not sure what they will do about Paradis with that contract. But at the very least , we need to find the long term answer at LT. If we have a top 10 pick I'd do what I needed to do to get the best OT available in the draft.

Thats a recurring theme with Hurney, and I get sucked into believing far too often come draft/FA time

This narrative that we need to just invest in the offensive line is so tired it's exasperating. We "invested" in the offensive line last year just to jog your memory. Unless you think making the o line 2 of our bigger free agent signings including the highest ranked free agent center from the previous year, as well as picking O line for 2 of our 7 draft picks, including a trade up for one of them, is neglecting the position. The O line is only 5 of the 22 (or 24 counting special teams) starting positions, and as bad as the entire team has looked, we can't pretend that's the only position we can afford to invest in.

Also, how easy is it to get a quality lineman? The overwhelming majority of big free agent signings are regretted almost immediately. We don't have to go far.. just look at our last 2 biggest signings in Paradis and Matt Kalil. Just ask their teams how happy they are with the contracts of Nate Solder and Andrew Norwell. And don't get me started on the draft. Is there a position that busts more often than offensive tackle? How many top 5 picks have washed out of the league? Guards seem to do much better and if you want to argue for us to spend a pick or two on the interior, you won't get an argument from me. But I think between Moton, Little and Daley, you roll the dice with them at tackle and assume with another year in the scheme and improved health, you can be at least competent at tackle. Having guards and a center that can hold their own will make them look better too.

then prepared to see you precious new QB get David Carred

this board's hilariously erroneous view of what passable OL play should look like aside, the NFL doesn't work this way

No general manager is sitting desperately to find that "franchise tackle" so they can finally start looking for a QB. Especially not in the name of cost.

You're not the first person to suggest something so dumb, so I'll assume most people don't actually believe that and  are more the "keep Cam at all cost to stick it to The Haters" camp rather than any honest assessment of where Cam is or what the new coach wants.
