“Those are almost like missed opportunities in the game when it comes to momentum. When you think you have the ball, then the next thing you know, you don’t. It’s pretty much like a missed op, and we’ve got to find a way to win the series.”

Missed opportunities are actually a legitimate thing, ya know...

So are wins and losses.

Opportunities are taken advantage of by the winners; missed by the losers.  That is why preparation, intelligence, skill, and talent are admirable characteristics.

I mean...yeah? Not sure what that has to do with what I said. Missed opportunities are often the difference in a game, which you seem to be re-affirming.

Just wondering if we’re going to continue to lose our minds any time anyone in this organization utters the words “missed” and “opportunities” in the same sentence. Sometimes it really comes down to a missed opportunity...that’s a pretty neutral, innocuous phrase that for some reason triggers so many people on here. Saying that missed opportunities cost us the game does not absolve anyone of blame. It’s about as coachspeak as it gets.
