Free Agent Left Tackles

Or anther option is to just simply get a better left tackle. If it's just for 2-3 seasons to improve, so be it. It gives much more time to evaluate those players when they aren't getting the QB shelled. It also allows us to possibly move Little or Daley inside to help our guard situation. That's pretty much my point, we don't have to "give up" on them. We just need to find some better players to allow them the time to develop or find them somewhere they can help us(even if it is just as depth).

Why though, we're a rebuilding team, no rush to try to win a few more games next year and hurt our draft position.

What I find hilarious is that's damn near perfect pass blocking technique.

Heck, she didn't even hold :)

She honestly does look like she might have played football. That technique is not a natural thing for people to do. I bet she has played some organized ball before.

Whether we are rebuilding or retooling, it would still be a wise idea to not field a JV offensive line. It's what has gotten our current franchise QB in the state he is in.

Thanks for providing this list, Kungfoodude.

I am thinking most will retire or be re-signed.  I say we fix center (whether that be through healing or other means) and upgrade LG---

Everyone is giving up on Little--too soon.  He needs work, but most LTs do.  If he were a first rounder, would anyone be talking about a free agent or draft pick?

Let Little grow--Moton was brought along slowly at RT---and he struggles at times.

I don't think we are talking about giving up on him. Moreso trying to get better in case he isn't the guy. I will say that you do see a lot of these first round LT picks that get moved around pretty quickly. It's just too important of a position if you struggle too much.

I was actually thinking the same thing.

She took a wide stance, bent her knees and anchored just like you'd want a good left tackle to do.

Hell, I'd use that clip for coaching film :)

It's ridiculous for fans to grade Little or Daley as a bust or a HOF talent on 1 year of play but a coaches job is to grade them all the time, especially the offseason, and make adjustments. They have showed no sign of locking the LT position down and penciling them in next year because the guy who drafted them needs them to step up isn't a good strategy, it's why people get fired instead of constantly trying to upgrade positions of weakness, which is what LT is still at this moment. They should get looks in camp anywhere on the line they could be useful, regardless, and they should be behind better players, which shouldn't be hard to do through FA or draft as their play has shown this year. If a top shelf LT is there when we pick in the first, we need to take a long look and I would be happy to get one.

Could y'all imagine us not picking Cam because Pickle could have improved?

It is just one season, and a rookie season, but the one thing I can say definitively in both cases is I wouldn't want either one as my primary option.

Just what the panthers need, more old and battle scarred , too expensive veterans

no

it is time the Panthers get the very best and meanest L OT in this draft.  Find themselves another Jordan Gross and not another Matt Kalil

rookie contracts are also a lot easier to deal with from a cap space and extend or not perspective

We'll also have to wait and see how many of these guys actually see free agency. The pending free agent list always ends up looking a LOT different than the actual free agent list.

I think the top three options will go off the board quickly(Costanzo, Peters and Whitworth). I suspect only Peters will be making a change of address in that group. I also suspect Beachum might get a fat paycheck because the rest of the LT market is a lot more gamble heavy.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
