The top guys aren't even going to interview if they believe they are going to be sharing power with or working for Marty Hurney.

I've gotta believe Dave Tepper knows this.

I'd agree.

That's why I'll be disappointed if the candidates for the new job turn out to be second-tier guys.

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians comes to mind. Sounds like a good way to end up with paralysis by analysis and/or a lot of internal strife and power struggles over differences in opinion.

Or a extremely effective brain trust.

@Mr. Scot Why is everyone so high on Caserio? It’s common knowledge BB and Kraft make all the roster decisions. Simply for his understanding of how their process works?

Belichick doesn't do everything. Pretty sure he doesn't doing a contract negotiation, for one.

It's possible Caserio could turn out to be riding someone else's coattails, but I've listened to some interviews he's given. In my opinion, he definitely knows what he's talking about.

Too tier GM candidates with multiple suitors are never gonna go for it though.

Who wants to sign up for split duties when you can simply take another job and run your own show?

When you get paid who cares. I'm glad you know so much on how to run a NFL team dude. He's keeping Hurney why is this so far fetched to you. People get paid to perform and when you have billions of dollars you can have multiple GMs.

You act as if top tier GM candidates experience a lack of employment opportunities.

What is Tepper looking for:

a young analytics based gamer who builds by treating draft chips like potato chips (Rams/Bears). or

a more seasoned evaluator who trades players to build the roster (Raiders/ Dolphins) or

a wheeler dealer who only looks at on field performance and can work with the Browns/Gordons etc (Pats/ Seahawks) or

a traditional zombie who is constantly in the film room and wants to coach up their players  while preferring  not to make changes for fear of being wrong (everyone else)

So we can learn how the Patriots are hiding cameras, stealing wireless signals for headsets, and stealing signs. It’s important moving forward. The Patriot way, “If you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.”
