It was not a mistake. All the evidence you need to see that the man is incapable of change is in this introductory press conference.

So he's going to bring in Shula until Haskins is too hurt to benefit from a better OC?

Rivera did indicate that they were already well into the process of reaching out to potential assistants.

Wonder how many of those will come from here.

Regardless of how you feel about Ron personally, chew on this for a minute:

Recently someone posted an eye opening bit of info. No HC/QB combo in the history of the NFL has ever won their first SB together later than 5 years in. They either do it within 5 years and then repeat that success later, or they don't do it at all. The evidence is nearly as strong for HC's on their own. If they are gonna win a SB, they do it within 5 years of taking a given job and go from there or they never do it. 

Now on top of that consider that with generational talents at QB and MLB, he had 3 winning seasons out of 9. 

We may or may not get a winner with our next hire, but what's pretty conclusive is that we werent going anywhere good with Ron going forward. Time to move on one way or the other. If we don't get a good HC this time, the consolation is they can't be too much worse than Ron.

It really sucks that this has become the media narrative that other people will gobble up because they don’t know any better. I dunno why but it really frustrates me more than it should.
