Yea, this guy is going to be a great interview if he happens to be our head coach.

Im sold

I read on one of the networks (ribbon at bottom of screen) that they have scheduled 2 interviews with him.  I am guessing 1 is the Hurney / Tepper interview to gauge character, etc. and the other is with the team captains (just a huge guess, but the locker room is a problem right now--and we do not want a paranoid Marty Hurney with the checkbook paying for his inferiority complex).

I think you state my feelings as well.  Others may challenge the reasons because he has no experience as a head coach and he did not call plays.  That really does not bother me because Reid was calling plays before coaching with EB.  I look for his charisma---his swag---his intelligence---his work ethic---he checks all the boxes.  No, I do not know that he will be a good coach no more than his critics know he will fail.

Since we lost TD and Cam (hopefully only for the season) it feels like our identity has diminished.  Give me a coach who is passionate about the game and his players.  Agree on his work ethic and intelligence.  I just feel like he is who we need at this time.  Sure hope Tepper feels the same.

Someone compared him to Mike Tomlin and that stuck---I love Tomlin.  He is calm under pressure, great with the players, etc.

So who do you think can do it for us, bobo?

Jim Harbaugh doesn't seem very interested in returning to the NFL, but Tepper should consider writing him a 20 million dollar a year check.  By far the best potential candidate whose track record in the NFL speaks for itself.

Given how unlikely that is to happen, Kevin Stefanski is far and away the best prospect.  The fact Zygi Wilf is so afraid of losing him he's contemplating firing Mike Zimmer (an excellent coach in his own right), speaks for itself.  'Swagger' is not to be outright dismissed, but intelligence always wins out when the real battles have to be won.

Coaches that are not that intelligent can get by with elite coordinators if they delegate well, but then those elite coordinators get poached and your team crumbles (see: Sean McDermott);  so it's imperative to find coaches who are both incredibly bright and also possessing in leadership and managerial abilities.

Harbaugh came close to winning too, but ultimately failed.  What makes him better than Rivera?  My main knock on Harbaugh is that he apparently can't be tolerated for long and Tepper wants sustained success.

Don't know much about Stefanski.  I'll give him a look.

Jim Harbaugh is not that intelligent and he wasn't able to win a Super Bowl. He's like Rivera in every sense but less respected. He's far from the anti-Rivera. He's the definition of getting by based on his coordinators. He had Roman and Fangio.

Quote

If only, "passion", "respect from the players", "leadership", "command", and "hustle" were enough to win Super Bowls

This describes Harbaugh more than any coach in recent history..
