Your title should be, “The case to trade up for Okudah”.

because we ain’t getting him at 7

Considering all options, and yes, it is possible he is there at #7.  I already explained how in this thread.  Open your mind and come to the realization that most of what you say is bullshit.

didn't he generally play man coverage at Ohio St?

I mean talent is talent but corners are weird sometimes about being great in man or zone looks sometimes

I saw some film (youtube) when he was in zone, and the anticipation of the throw---how he planted and broke before the qb released the ball--was scary.  I have seen few college CBs as good as this guy---maybe I am biased for some reason, but he is a stud.

I really hated Higgins for Clemson got hurt on that very first series as that was going to be a good matchup to watch.    Higgins eventually made it back at some point in the second half but I felt we kinda got robbed of the Clemson WR/Ohio St DB contest.  By the 2nd half, Lawrence and Etienne had already figured out an attack that worked.

I mean from what I have seen from him I am not opposed to it.  I mean I do lean BPA w/ a top first round pick.  He is a stud.  After that need drives my preference.

It seems like there are 10 players that are top 7 picks. We are getting talent either way...

yep.

I mean we got a boat load of needs but I also think in this draft class the potential for a 1st round caliber WR can be there in the 2nd.

and aren't going to be a Super Bowl bound team most likely in 2020 so I probably can convince myself to let BPA ride a little more heavy this year.

Realization is he ain’t going to be there. He’s the best DB prospect to come out since Ramsey

This guy is my pick. I hope he drops to 7 but I just can't see it. Lock down corner with good size, speed and a great attitude and drive to work hard. He is in that Chase Young category of we can take him off our board because he won't make it to 7.

Definitely not a pipe dream. Tua coming out is a big change, but you have Burrow and Young 1-2 and the only 4 more picks before us. Jeudy, Thomas, Brown, Simmons and Okudah are elite guys. If Tua comes out then 2 of those 5 are available to us. I could see arguments for any of them going before our pick. Heck, it wouldn’t shock me to see another riser or Herbert go to Miami or SD if Tua doesn’t come out.

I will say that Tua not coming out could put us in a bad spot of a chance of Burrow, Young, Jeudy, Thomas, Brown and Okudah going before our pick. Simmons is not someone we need or want so we’d be going from the next group or god forbid, picking Herbert.

If Tua comes out then I think we’ll have an elite player or 2 at 7 that could really help us.

we really need QBs to go ahead of us.  I think this could be a draft where they fall though.

I'm sure it's impossible that Okudah makes it to 7 just as impossible it was last year for Brian Burns and Montez Sweat to make it to 16. Or are we just going to pretend that there weren't a choir of huddlers saying that exact thing? I agree with those saying Burrow and Young are the only 2 sure things before 7. I'd be happy with Okudah with our first pick if he's there.

Okudah is a Beast

But point blank

We need to hit the trenches on either side with the first pick.

A strong DL and front 7 can mask a weak secondary.

What a strong secondary Can't do?  Mask a weak DL, watching teams run the he11 all over you.

Hes gone before we can pick him. Most have him 3-4 range.

If the Raiders trade up and take a QB.  Since we not sure if Tua is coming out he could be gone.  We could take his partner in crime at OSU on the other side of field Arnette which might be a good 2nd or 3rd round pick.
