one thing to preach to kids and recruits another thing to get a grown man with a family behind you.

This is a legit point. This sort of stuff tends to work better on college age kids who listen to you say it for a maximum of 4 years. Pro players tend to have heard it all before. You can put this stuff in every once in a while, but not week after week or you get tuned out like, umm, what's his name, the last guy who was here....

lol if you think this roster isn't going to go fuging nuts for his preacher vibe. thomas davis is probably kicking himself he's not still here. he'd be in there fist pumping. cam will love it most of all, shaq will love it, reid will love it,  he's going to have a really good connection with the team pretty quickly. i don't even mean anything about religion, i'm just talking about how exuberant and lively these guys are. they're extroverts. they'll vibe with him.

I'm sure he does.  Fortunately for Carroll, Seattle seems to have a knack for find capable replacements for them.

Loved it. And that’s exactly how you talk to grown men. Especially those who are passionate about what they are doing. Football players are extremely emotional (which is exactly why tides change so fast in the sport).

The ones who don’t respond to it probably aren’t engaged and you don’t really want them on your team anyway. The great part about someone like that is it makes those weeds standout much easier than someone like Rivera’s approach.

He made them good Vs. shitty opponents. Whenever they faced someone good they lost. They almost lost 7 to shitty opponents too in the 11-1 season. If you don’t think ATL, TB, and NO are going to eat him for lunch...

I wonder if that knack comes from being able to inspire and motivate young guys right out college? Ron seemed to connect best with the old vets. Carroll obviously connects well with the young guys.

Actually Rhule's coaching style seems like it would suit Cam rather well.
