I still talk about "taping" a show on my DVR, I simply can't lose the verbiage for some odd reason.  I'm waiting for my daughter to get old enough to finally ask me why I call it "taping."

I tried to explain to my daughter about pagers and pay phones and she was baffled by all of it. This was a few years back when she was maybe 15-16.

I was trying to explain a modem to my teenage son.

"You see son, we used to have to use the phone to get on the internet."  

"Oh, so you didn't have a computer, you just used the internet on the iphone"

"No, it was on the computer, but you had to use the phone line to connect"

"Phone ..... line?????"

"Just go clean your room"
