If Hurney goes rooting around in FA for another cast away LT when we still have to pay Kalil in 2020, then I will be tempted to write him a letter calling him a moron. Thomas might fall right into our lap. We might have some good luck for once. We can't screw it up looking for poop LTs in the bargain bin. That's not even funny. That would be sabotage.

I would co-sign that letter.

Does no one remember that we drafted Ryan Kalil in the 2nd round in 2007? He fell right into our lap. But didn't start until the last 3 games of 2008. And Travelle Wharton was drafted in the 3rd round in 2004, started the last 11 games of 2004 on one of the best O-lines we've had. And Trai Turner was drafted in the 3rd round in 2014 and didn't start until week 5 in 2014.

Sometimes gold happens in later rounds.

Hindsight is 20/20. Think back to draft day. We didn't have glaring holes at LG or C. Pradis was rehabbing but apparently passed the physical and GVR wasn't injured. LT was a big enough hole to drive a semi through. I can't speak to Hurney's choice with Little but I don't think he made the choice totally by himself. And, except for injuries, our O-line was fixed.

You are a tool, you're attitude towards anyone that disagrees is myopic and toxic. Must be nice to consider yourself a typing warrior.

Lol. Get over yourself and stop being so damn sensitive. Your statement that we had to go LT was wrong. Moton in 3 or 4 games in 2018 looked better at LT than Daley or Little. If we had to, we could have moved him over for a year and made Daryl RT and given him the same TE support that made him good. We could have taken Bobby Evans at 77 if we hadn’t traded it away. He’s the starting RT for the Rams and he was in for a draft visit, just like McCoy. Marty knee these guys well enough. He just fell for Little and what he could possibly become and passed on Ryan Kalil and a pre-injured Daryl Williams. An obvious mistake.

We lost Norwell, Ryan Kalil and Matt Kalil. We chose to replace Matt Kalil with a 2nd, 3rd and 6th and we ignored the deepest spot in the draft, interior OL. The Saints, the guys kicking our asses lately in the draft chose the C we should have chosen. He who would have been way better than Van Roten. Van Roten was the worst graded G in 2018. He was a hole as big as LT.

We could have an excellent OL this year had we drafting the obvious studs instead of reaching and wasting picks. I’d even say that we could have Little and McCoy if we passed on Grier. Little was sliding like a rock. Take McCoy at 47 and trade up from 77 with 100 if you’re that scared.

It can absolutely happen, particularly with interior OL guys. It's not uncommon for no interior OL to go in the 1st and it's fairly common for none to go in the first 15-20 picks or so.

I don’t think Marty remembered Ryan in the 2nd. He had the chance to do it all over taking McCoy at 47 and screwing the Saints. Instead he went all Everette Brown, gotta trade up for no reason, ignore the stud available at a position of need. If you have a chance to pick a pro-bowl center when your last one just retired, you do that every time over a raw LT prospect. There are raw LT prospects every year way after 37.

Exactly. We had a hole at LG and C. Paradis was a stop gap regardless. His contract basically is a 2 year deal so a guy like McCoy can be LG year 1/2 and then takeover. Or as bad as Paradis played, you start McCoy at C, where he ranked 4th best in the NFL for our beloved Saints. What a pick McCoy is for us at 47. We get Ryan Kalil and the Saints have a huge gaping hole at C.

I don't think the Panthers are incompetent enough to try and fill our LT needs yet again in free agency. That would be moronic at this point. Thomas will be the pick if he's there.

I think they are definitely incompetent enough.

Anyway, here is all I am looking for.

I do think we go LT round 1 tbh.

I've said this probably too much on here ....but the only way I would go LT is if there is a combine stud. I mean a super fast athletic tackle, otherwise there is no way you pass on D Brown. There are 5 line positions that you can improve and you can get a stop gap LT in FA as Greg Little improves. Little has actually shown athleticism, people talk about his concussions but I think they were both low grade.

So you're saying we should replace moton?

I'm not sure Brown gets past Gettleman. He's taking a hog mollie - it'll either be an OT or Brown.

No he was easily our best lineman and would be better with a better center imo. Center effects guard wich effects tackle. My point was everyone is stuck on LT when it is just as important to upgrade the other positions mainly Center, LG, and honestly a future RG.

    • It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.
    • I really fuging hate this era in so many ways.  I look at those Adin Ross and Neon kids, and I just wonder why tf are they famous?  Why would anyone be desperate enough to gain THAT audience that they’d risk money, career, disciplinary action to go up there and associate with those fuging dweebs?  And back in my day, racist peers got their ass beat.  And not endorsing or approving bully culture, but checks and balances and all…  had those two been bullied, or at the very least humbled, they wouldn’t be famous and glorified for being the fuging idiots they are now.  It seriously pisses me off… they both have done and said multiple, openly racist stuff and major media keeps pushing them, talking about them, and propping them up… and then dummies like Puka who don’t need the platform or exposure lend their celebrity to them.  fuging idiot… and even the other streamers, I don’t get - Speed, Kai…  I don’t understand making nobodies famous at all, but there is at least entertainment value to some degree there, and I could see how young, impressionable kids would find them something to aspire to (sadly), or view as “cool.”  But Ross and Neon?  They’re just shitty, shitty nerds with big ass mouths. I’ve went back recently and watched some classics (in two very different eras and categories 😂)  like Robocop and Idiocracy.  And what I find fascinating is how both movies illustrate how stupid society became by showing what the citizenry is entertained by.  In both, society became anti-intellectual and the citizenry were entertained by lowest denominator, primal-type absurdity - poo like, “Ouch! My Balls!”  Or on Robocop, a guy is a watching a show where they are smashing cakes on ladies’ breasts and then a guy says a line as the camera zooms in like, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” and the audience thinks it’s hilarious.  That’s where I feel like we are now.  Like who watches that clip with Puka and thinks any of that poo is funny or cool?  If I was Puka, I’d honestly be wondering why tf I’m hanging out with these beta ass, racist, cretin ass weirdos.
    • 7 wins this year and some of those against really good teams and yall think Canales might get fired? Lol Good luck getting a better coach in here if that happens.
