Not what I wanted. Is looking to be about as ugly a separation as I thought it might be. I don't like it, but also I've grown somewhat apathetic towards the team. To be honest, this is bothering me less than I thought it would. Not that I'm not upset by the ending of the Cam era. It's just that I don't care that much anymore.

I'm not blaming this on Tepper, though. My feelings started well before he came around. Years of mediocrity and a coaching staff and GM who were more interested in being comfortable than winning did it.

The slate is getting wiped clean. We might get this turned into something good. We might suck. I don't know. I just know that I'm only mildly interested in how it shakes out.

It's not that I don't care, it's that there are things that have risen to the forefront in my life that is taking my energy away. The state of the Panthers is far less concerning to me than the shape of the country, my family, my aging parents, the well being of folks around me, and my own health.

I hope they become fun to watch again, but I'm not expecting much. Not for a while. I will watch and pay attention to the preseason stuff and the draft and all that, but....you know....it's just not that big a deal to me anymore. Winning matters. I hope they figure it out. But if they don't, I'm not going to waste my energy or stress about it. It's just not worth it. Not anymore.

Football is supposed to be a place where you can escape all the pressures of life for a few hours on Sunday.

Doesn't sound like that's working for you right now.

Football as a whole is much lower on my priority list than years back, and while this change in the entire org for the Panthers had gotten me a little more excited, the moves that we have made and continue to make have taken that wind right back out of my sails.

We were in a perfect position to really make some leaps in the coming years, and just choose to continue to be OK.

Frustrating is an understatement.

Nope. It just stopped being fun. Last few years have been a struggle. Seems like the air left the balloon when we lost the Superbowl and we haven't been able to fill it back up.

I saw the league in a new and ugly way and I saw the team settle for mediocrity. Firing Rivera was the right thing to do for sure and was well overdue.

Tepper is putting all his eggs in the Rhule basket. I hope it works and he gives me a reason to get excited again, but we're parting ways with the most exciting player this team has ever had, imo. And that is probably something that needed to happen for us to get better long term.

I'm just not that interested in it anymore though. If I care, it's just another thing to stress about and I don't need that. And I'm saying that as someone getting ready to go to the doctor and get my ticker checked out in a little bit.

Of all the things to be genuinely concerned about, this doesn't rank highly, nor should it unless you are associated with the team and your personal well being is tied to it.

It's just not fun anymore. It's not a pleasant escape. I don't need it.

Remember this Scot?

Well, his first statement was pretty interesting and telling!

I'm a Panthers fan for life. I just hope they figure things out before I take a dirt nap!

At this point, I'm not angry or delusional, but I am hopeful!

I do, and he's not technically even "post" yet.

If I recall correctly, I think you were the only one that said that, which surprised me a little bit.

Olsen and Turner have already made some statements that make me think David Tepper isn't going to be as well-liked by the players as Jerry Richardson was.

I don't take anything in football that much to heart anymore.  Ten years ago I knew any move that went on, watched every game I could, and probably looked at highlights of every game.  Now, I follow the NFL about like I follow MLB: I'll check the scores, look at the standings, and maybe look at some highlights if something peaks my interest.  My watching it live was limited to little more than whatever Panther games were on out here, which is fairly rare.

For me, the NFL stopped being good entertainment a long time ago.  For the record, it was the constant tinkering with the game that resulted in a set of rules that took two physicists and a mechanical engineer to review every play in order to figure out what happened.

I've become much more of an NHL fan than an NFL fan.

I would have liked to seen Cam taking the snaps next season here to see what he had after the injuries and the work he was doing with Turner.  The problem was, there is a limited shelf life to that.  I had pretty much come to terms that, even if I that did happen, next year was probably going to be his swan song here.  I was also prepared for the possibility that what I would liked to have seen was never going to happen.

Regardless, there is little that can go on in the sport that is going to get me as wound up as about 90% of this board right now.  In the end, it is just a form of entertainment, hopefully an escape for a few hours, and nothing it does has any impact on the quality of my life.

Frankly I came to that conclusion 12 years ago.  I had been an NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber year after year after year and then I found... I wasn't watching it.  Any of it.  It was almost like shelling out that $200-300 bucks had become tradition.  So I stopped and mostly did without NFL except for an occasional national feed.  And I found I didn't miss it.

Then came Cam.

Much like you I'll probably just fade away (again for me).  Keep a watch out of the corner of my eye at records and stats.  But (again like you) I no longer have a desire to invest.  There's not enough payoff to consider it worth it.

You said a mouthful.  This is how I have felt since the super bowl loss.  Thanks for saying it so well!

    • Stress is one of the worst things for your body, hair and scalp as you should try to reduce this at all costs. Stress can cause dandruff and facilitate the graying process, which damages the way that you look. Eliminate stress and triggers of stress to feel and look great during the day. Whenever a blow dryer is being used, it is important to move your hair around so that the heat isn't focused on a single area. This will lessen the chance of your hair being damaged due to heat. Avoid overusing styling products. Using too many lotions, creams, conditioners and the like can be just as destructive to the hair as using none. Hair-care products can build up over time, smothering your hair in a coating of oil and chemicals and irritating your scalp. Stick to a few reliable products and rotate them occasionally to keep them from building up. • My concern is that Bryce is going to require a lot of premium resources to make his style of play work. He needs first and second round talent. His game is: play breaks down, his beast o line buys him half an hour of scramble time and his first round WR makes magic happen. Unless Morgan and co are draft and FA wizards, the defense will be filled with a stud here and there, but mostly JAGs. It’s damn near impossible to win a championship with a crap defense.  in this instance, Bryce wins but panthers lose. We win 7 to 11 games a year, just because we’re so loaded on O. Ground game goes for 180 yards and 3 TDs a game behind a nasty line. Defense gives up 21 on the regular.
