because he's not black like the man i was comparing him to. what are you offended i called someone white?? talk about, "putting your big girl panties on", ffs snowflake.

what do you mean by he didnt waltz in and change everything? its been right at 2 full years, and he's changed literally everything...inclucing buying up land in SC to hold the team for ransom when the new stadium topic comes up (not selfish or a slap in the face of fans whatsoever, right?). just like your "our backup qbs showed flashes" comment, we clearly see this situation through different lenses. good coaches scheme up for the talent they have, not trade/release their best players to get the backup version of what the saints do, smh.

you got your major change, doesnt mean i have to like it one bit...and teddy checkdown replacing, cam fugging newton....wow, CONGRATU-FUGGIN-LATIONS, exciting times to be a panther fan. its been a "little time" and i dont recognise the team. your differing opinion is fine, but dont tell me what to do....change accounts and put on panties?? sick fug. check ip smartass, this is my only account.

The only snowflake in this conversation is you. You sound like a petulant 3 year old who hasn’t gotten her way.

Tepper leveraging assets to improve the Panther’s facilities is a slap in the fan’s face? Really?

2 years is plenty of time for the existing team to ramp up It’s production under the new owner, and he didn’t have to give them that much time. If I was Tepper, I’d have blown it up 2 years ago. Why not? It’s his team now.

Sure, good coaches scheme for the talent they have. Last 2 years- they didn’t. Coaches are gone. The new coaches will need to scheme for the talent they have. BUT GUESS WHAT? ITS THE OFF-SEASON NOW! That means the dead weight players have to go. Contracts can’t be awarded to people just because they have been here a while. Cam had one magical season. I’d love to keep cam. But i can recognize that there are some important business decisions being made here and I can understand the logic behind them. Once the season starts, I’ll full expect the coaches to be held responsible for the players on the roster. For now it’s time to look at the players and how the will fit into the new scheme. You have to break the cycle of being sentimental about players and treat them like what they are- assets. Some assets are better than others. Some demand too much money for what they are. Some the market has plenty of. Some the market is short on. Some have been unreliable bench warmers for the last 2 years.

I don’t like the Bridgewater pickup much myself,  but time will only tell if it’s a good pickup. Maybe he will play lights out knowing he is the #1 QB on the team and not the 2nd fiddle.

im not telling you what to do. Who is the sick one? Your username is is a direct reference to Tepper’s penis. I can choose to judge your maturity level based on that, and I do. Your posts just further reinforce that your panties are in a bunch, or maybe you are just on your period.

Can we please wait at least 24 hours so we can hear what actually happened.

Cam could've refused to play under a 1 year and felt that asking for 4 or 5 was not forcing his way out.

We pretty much have.

Newton didn't force his way out. Basically, the Panthers we're interested in Bridgewater and once they got him, they decided to go ahead and part ways with Newton.

For PR reasons, they framed it as "allowing him to seek a trade". This was a poor choice and Newton reacted accordingly.

Now, they're hoping to get something in return for him but might not. And if they don't, he'll end up released.

That's pretty much it.

we got 10x richer, white bob johnson owning the team now...only prob is, this isnt a startup franchise, the selfish asshole bought an already existing team that the community has ties with and love for, and wants to tear them down to the charlotte bobcats of football so he can have "his" team built. typical northern transplant, delusions of self grandeur, tiny dlck ego move.

some people are happy cam is gone and are spewing shlt...they can suck a fat one too...especially the shlt talking regs.

fug your love, fug your years of fan loyalty, fug your money invested in merch, tickets, etc, fug all the arguments youve endured taking up for this franchise over the past 25 years....just fug you all right in your pleb, "you'll take what youre given and like it, or fug off" asses.

im sure that new uniform design is coming soon, with our brand new logo of teps fat fuggin greasy pale face plastered to the side of our new black helmets we all been longing for....tiny hands ass grabbin dickhead.

yeah...im butthurt. fug tep, and fug his whole bitch boy entourage of "yes" men.

Ok, but tell us how you really feel. Lol

If that’s true then Joe Brady is a candyass. Only a candyass would want to start Teddy Bridgewater over Cam Newton.

To be fair, it's pretty common for new coaches to pull a guy they know from a prior team over to their new gig.

And I'd say Bridgewater isn't "the guy". He's the guy who's holding down the fort until they find the actual guy.

The best thing that could happen with Tepper at this point is that this goes so epically wrong that he is forced to hire competent people and let them do thier jobs after this all blows up in his face. So far I have zero belief this team will win much in the next 5 years. We are being run like the Jets at this point.

After a day or so of setting in, I’ve come to the conclusion that Tepper and Rhule are Just steamrolling their way, not taking many other opinions and showing their inexperience.

Recruiting and capital investment be damned.
This was really careless on the PR side. Tepper’s official statement is even veryyyy weird lacking proper depth and gratitude for Cam on the organization’s behalf. Don’t want to pre judge too harshly but I’m not impressed. Funny thing is that I’m not even mad about the actual free agents. It’s the whole rollout being irrespective to the organization And history books he bought.

He’s treating the team like there was nothing in place culturally within the fandom and it’s tie to the previous regimes.

"within the fandom"

I wish I had a dollar for every interview I've either heard on TV or read where a player/owner/GM stated "It's a business".  The sooner that fans can accept this, the easier it is to accept regime/player changes and the easier it is to get over hurt feelings. I have watched this team religiously now for 25 years. I have slogged through all the poo seasons and reveled in all the great ones (which have really been few and far between). I'm just ready for consistent winning. I'd much rather have that that the last 25 years of roller coaster rides and if takes burning it all down to build that, I'm all in. Tepper is hurting feelings more than anything, player and stan alike, but he seems to be running the team like a business, which is what he knows.  It's easy to see what JR put in place wasn't working. Please find me someone who can say that this team was a model of success for the past 25 years. I need some of what they are smoking. I'm not happy at all with Hurney being around still, because he's been part of the past 25 years of inconsistent bullshit. But I don't feel like he's gonna be around a whole lot longer anyway. Maybe its all just blind optimism of my own fandom, but I'm excited for what is ahead. And if it doesn't work, I bet Tepper has the capital to try again.  /shrug

I'm drawing a dividing line in a particular way here.  For me, I get the business is business conjecture.  That's fine.  Guys get released, jettison to rivals, sh*t happens.  No hard feelings, it's their jobs.

But in business, if you are respected and helped build something, there is typically a nice sign off in an exit on good terms.  They made this the "no feels" exit with a lot of public posturing prior on both sides.

For example, I jettisoned a long term design gig in Cali for one in Chicago.  On my last day, we had a huge Friday lunch as a 25+ person office and post-work celebration and I was leaving for another firm.  But killed it for them over the years and they understood the career move.  The owner didn't just leave a note on the google calendar or kitchen bulletin board saying "Sax man has is leaving".  It was great and with good intent.

And there is also a certain culture in respect to orgs like Roaring Riot, Mile High Cats, QCB, so many places and organizations are extensions of the franchise and created social networks and generated cash independently of the org.  This happens when teams get established and really bleed into their city.  It takes time but they've finally become pretty well embedded in Charlotte.

When you have business that extends into a culture, socio-economic construct, and community, this stuff matters.  Business is business, but optics and PR is a huuuuuge deal in this realm.

Spent the first half of my life  Cowboys fan, dad was born in Dallas. Mom was born in Chapel Hill NC, ergo grew up with Tom Landry & Dean Smith were 2 of the GOATs in our family. When J Jones bought the Cowboys & fired Landry, I was not a fan of him in the least [still pulled for the players] He was blessed with much stronger team than Tepper has been. Hired the best by far college coach of the time [some will debate that Miami was a Pro team in disguise]. A lot of Tepper's actions & words are just repeats from that time. Remember this was pre-salary cap & money was all you needed to put a team in the playoffs & possibly the SB. It has been 25 years since the Jimmy Johnson influence has left Dallas & the Cowboys have won nothing since. Be prepared, Tepper is acting just like Jones, IMO. I do not think the Panthers will win a SB in my or half the Huddler's lifetime. IMO

Despite his wealth, he unfortunately lacks the courage to put his reputation on the line.

It's one thing to get rid of Cam, and another to sign Bridgewater. But there's no direction, just hedging thier bets.

You could say, "Cam's finished, and we can win with Teddy." I could get over that, particularly if I see it working.

But no one is prepared to say that. They can say poo like rebuilding will take 5 years,  But that's just covering their ass and buying time from a PR pov is things turn to even more poo after 3 seasons.

Lame.
